Today the ESECPN was reporting about how THE Ohio State Buckeyes were looking to be back to back National Champions when the upcoming college football season is over, a feat they have yet to accomplish. The totally irrelevant Huskers have done this back to back thing....TWICE.

Another thought....earlier, Jiggsy's favorite Civil War veteran/college football HC was wanting Nebraska back in the Big XII. Could it be Snyder is tired of Texass calling all the shots, and being less than fair on the money split? Or belonging to a conference that doesn't meet requirements to play for a National Championship due to too few members? Or is Wee Willie afraid that Oklahoma and Kansas may head to the B1G...OU for football & KU for basketball....and if that happens, Texass will try to go PAC 12 or go independent. The Big 12 will fold like a cheap suit, and K State will be lucky to get into the RMAC. Or is Snyder afraid that 2 or 3 years after he retires (for the second time), attendance at Bill Snyder Family Stadium will peak at 1,500 or so per game, like it did in the 80's? All those Big XII conference votes against Nebraska that the MildCats made are coming back to haunt them. Karma.

Seems like I remember Nebraska fussing about not having any real rivalry games since they left the Big 12 too. About the closest thing they have is Iowa. They can't get any national attention because of it and it's showing in recruiting. Talk about Karma......................

Better check that recruiting thing again, Mike. For a new HC & staff, we've done very well, IMO, thank you. Just snagged another stud this morning.

I wouldn't make book on the Huskers going back to the Big XII...EVER, rivalry games or not. Texass was the kiss of death to the old Southwest conference, and they've just about killed the Big XII. Within the next decade, the Big XII will be gone.

#31 nationally in recruiting ranking is "very well" ?

And that's where you'll wind up............outside of the Top 25 in the end.

Laugh all you want. Like I said...new HC, new staff. We'll all be smarter come next January when the bowls are over. For my money, Riley & Co. have done better than a lot of folks thought they would or could.

Time will tell. But you argued to the high heavens about Pelini too. If jigs told you once, he told you 1,000 times that Bo would be gone soon. By golly he was right.

I ride for the brand. I may not always be a true believer, but Bo was a vast improvement over Callahan...he just failed to mature over time & was blindly loyal to a staff that, for lack of a better word, reeked of incompetence. I think Riley will work out just fine in Lincoln...but we'll see.

At least Riley is a nice guy and people will respect him. Bo was an embarrassment. Whoever hired Bo needs his butt kicked.

No. I mean whoever hired Bo to coach Nebraska is a moron. A hot head with no head coach experience shouldn't have been a consideration.

That would be Dr. Tom. One of his extremely rare misses.

At the time, though, even Ron Prince would have been an improvement over Callahan.
