We're pretty lucky today, not getting the ice that South Dakota and eastern Nebraska is getting, but it's still not a very nice day with the little sleet we are getting...We had to go start the pumpjack on a windmill cause with no wind..no water...just a few shots of my morning..Hope everyone is staying warm!

Jassy is that white arm part of the pump jack? The one we have is just a small thing that clamps on the pump part on the top of the well and a motor mounts on it and runs with a belt from the motor to a fair sized pulley (about 16-18 in across). We used to tie a wire to the spark plug on the gas motor and dump it over the edge of the tank (insulated from tank). The water would short it out and shut it down for us so we didn't have to baby sit it.

Looks like it was cold at your place today, too, Jassy. We only got about half an inch of snow with some freezing drizzle, and the breeze was light.

That is a nice buck. Good eatin' and a nice wall ornament. :-)

Ya it is the arm of the pumpjack...ours is a portable one that we just hook up and pull behind the pickup to the next windmill. Also it carries the 4 panels too, to set up around it...Yurs sounds like it works good for you too.

Actually we gave the meat to my brother...and kept a doe for ourselves...and no way is that gonna be mounted on any wall in my house!...lol

We've got about 8 inches of snow and it's still comeing down only a 160 days till grass.

Sure glad I'm in a warmer climate- - - - not Texas but it was in the upper 50s yesterday and will be in the upper 40s most of the week and then the long range is for back in the 50s for the weekend.

Cattle look good - - - I love the wide open spaces but can't figure the lack of wind. Possibly it is the hills and different ground cover but we seem to always have some wind.

So far I've only turned the heaters on in the fountains on two mornings and then shut them off by mid morning.

Batten down the hatches, Jassy!!! we are getting slammed with a whopper of a system right now and is gonna "linger" for the rest of the week!! All roads leading outta our little town are "emergency travel only" and this storm has my precious 18 year old stranded in Helena (110 miles north)!!! Probably gonna head your way next, Jassy!! How about my buddies Hanta/sw, Faster Horses and Oldtimer????

Mrs. Greg- you are again being far too generous and sharing too much  Rained during the night- but temp was up in the mid 40's-Beautiful out this morning....Then the wind came out of the Northwest (of course) and started to whooping and temps started dropping...
Now at noon I have 25-30 mph winds and the temp is down to 24 and still dropping ------BRRRRRRRRRR.....A few snow squalls blowing thru...
