Picked up 3-4 inches of snow yesterday- and the bottom fell out of the thermometer last night with 17 Below here- and temps as cold as 30 Below reported up the river....
At least with the snow- if this cold freezes up the springs the cows can go to eating snow....

Too much work for Fatlock.
To paraphrase Marie Antoinette, "let them eat cake".

They can get water from a well- but they have to walk a ways to get to it and after the snow comes often prefer it.... Some will go to water- and some will choose to stay where the grass (and snow) is...They've lived many a year without being pampered- especially with such things as the liquid cow candy some folks peddle... Nothing worse than watching dollars drip off their mouth onto the ground from some of that liquid tub stuff.... At least with "cake" they'll clean that up...

Better to have no business than to have your business.

If you like paying for fines that blow away in the wind, have at.

Fill me in on what fines- and for what :???:

The "Fines" are the crumbles in the bottom of the bag that get uneaten & wasted, Dummy.

Well you have to pardon me for not catching on- because my cows don't get any cake either- except for that we pack around in our pockets to hand feed some of the pets... Not with hay as plentiful and cheap as it is this year...
I try to raise cows that work for me- not ones that have me working for the feed stores and cow lic salesmen... But that again is a management choice- that is up to each producer...

Spoken like someone who has never put a pencil to something to see if it would pay or not. But I would expect no less from someone who is on his knees for Dear Leader....and I ain't implying that he's praying.....

I'm sure Trevor Brazile never fed any of his rope horses any supplements or special feed additives. Heck, he probably just let them eat dry grass and snow. Those World Championships just fell out of the sky for him, and the rope horses were an insignificant part of the equation.

Yeah, right!
