We also know it wasn't Gcreek because the cougar escaped. Gcreek would have choked it to death even if weapons were available.It's not Gcreek because the man didn't bite the dog!!!
Grand Forks is right on the border. I have a good friend just south of there. They are over run with cougars.

We know it wasn't Gcreek because he doesn't have a dog small enough for a cougar to get its jaws around its head.

The cougar did have his Border Collie's head in it's mouth when GCreek grabbed a canvas roller for a swather and cracked it over the head.
