Immigration Raiding Swift Plants

I don't understand what part of the word "illegal" is not understood in "illegal alien". Sure, it's a mess when families get split up and I feel for those folks, but they put themselves in that position. When you're breaking the law, you had better expect John Law to knock at any time.

I'm not sure I even support a guest worker program. It's sure causing Europe problems. Being a guest worker puts you in a lower social class, and human nature will tolerate that only for so long.

 I was thinking this was the only plant close to their recent feedlot purchase in that area. They were bluffing (or so I thought) and saying they were going to build one on the border of Ok/Tx or somewhere down there. Anyway, the Greely Co. sounds familiar.

Thats "SMITHFIELD" that's building one in Texas. Close to the 800,000 head feedlots they have their.

They are building an ethanol plant there too.

A guest worker program with a path to citizenship moves guest workers on up the chain and creates a further need for more guest workers.

Rome did this with the Vandals and Goths. Ultimately the Vandals took over Rome.

And so what does that make us if we fail to learn from history?

When did illegal immigrants start getting Constitutional Rights?

Union, ICE continue to debate legality of Swift raid in U.S. District Court

The Greeley Tribune

December 20, 2006

In the week after federal immigration officials raided Greeley's Swift & Co. meat packing plants, debate about the raid rages in the legal arena.

Representatives for the detained workers continue to wrangle with federal prosecutors about what happened and why, what Constitutional rights the workers have, and which ones may or may not have been violated.

In court documents, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7, which represents workers at the Greeley plant, said Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained the workers illegally and did not allow them access to attorneys.

"Immigration officials last month informed Swift that it would remove unauthorized workers on Dec. 4, but Swift asked a federal judge to prevent agents from conducting the raid, arguing it would cause "substantial and irreparable injury" to its business. "

It would cause them "substantial and irreparable injury" to their business if they followed the law? Now I've heard everything.

How about their "legitimate business interest" to do these illegal acts? Haven't the liberal sellout courts already okayed this defense for big business who pays off politicians?
