I don't know if you agree with all their philosophies but I do think the germplasm of the heritage breeds should be protected-imagine if hog and poultry production had to move back outdoors. it drives my wife crazy but I've dragged home some of these critters over the years-I think it's fun to have some diversity in the front yard-it gets a bit hard on the flower beds and garden.

Whiling away the hours reading about endangered critters-pretty intyeresting. I know our last Buff Orpington hen lived out on her own here till she was about five.
