Interesting Stuff

Great post, NR! That's a very cool look back at history. I really like the steer "Conoco" from 1969. He would be competitive today in the show ring, but more importantly would be useful in each sector of the beef business. At 1250 pounds and grading middle Choice, what more can you ask for?? We've seen some type changes since then. I like his kind, and he's not even black!! :o 8) :P

I wonder if they really are-I'm sure if packers established a gold styandard and paid accordingly things would soon start to shape up the way they want them. On our own cattle we aree just about always 95%+ AAA-our yields could be better but I'll sacrifice a bit there to keep an easier fleshing herd of cows.

I wish I could figure out a way to transfer that slide thing so I could do a presentation for the 4H kids.

Maybe you could just conduct your presentation somewhere that has a high-speed internet connection. You can just project your internet browsing session onto a screen through an LCD projector. Doesn't necessarily have to be in PowerPoint to project the screen image. You can then show anything and everything from Dr. Ritchie's site.

That would be a great thing to review with 4-H kids.

That made as much sense to me as bursting out in Swahali lol. I'll see if one of my geeky kids can figure it out. It would be interesting to post the pics and get people to try and date when it was taken.

Find laptop that has wireless internet capability (wireless card installed). Find projector (aka PowerPoint projector). Take both machines to heated Canadian building where wireless internet connections are being used and refreshments are being served. Plug projector and laptop into electricity. Plug laptop into projector using standard cable. Turn on both machines and get internet up and working on laptop. Once internet is up and going press "Ctrl" and "LCD" buttons simultaneously on the laptop until image shows up on the wall or screen. Kaboom! You've got action! Good luck. :D

Now, I wish I knew Swahili...
