Buckwheat has screwed up all the work done previously by the Bush Admin. in Iraq. "The War On Terror Is Over"............didn't he say that, or something to that effect?

WASHINGTON — As the threat from Sunni militants in western Iraq escalated last month, Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki secretly asked the Obama administration to consider carrying out airstrikes against extremist staging areas, according to Iraqi and American officials.

But Iraq's appeals for a military response have so far been rebuffed by the White House, which has been reluctant to open a new chapter in a conflict that President Obama has insisted was over when the United States withdrew the last of its forces from Iraq in 2011.

The swift capture of Mosul by militants aligned with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has underscored how the conflicts in Syria and Iraq have converged into one widening regional insurgency with fighters coursing back and forth through the porous border between the two countries. But it has also called attention to the limits the White House has imposed on the use of American power in an increasingly violent and volatile region.

This fall of Iraq has NOTIHNG to do with President Obama. He didn't start this un necessary war.

Bush opened the door wide open for insurgents to come and stir shite up.

If you think he gives a diddly damn you are WRONG!

There aren't too many places in the world you could say something as asinine as that and not get laughed out of the room. No wonder you spend so much time here.

The Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 is a United States Congressional statement of policy calling for regime change in Iraq.[1][2] It was signed into law by President Bill Clinton, and states that it is the policy of the United States to support democratic movements within Iraq.

The Act found that between 1980 and 1998 Iraq had:
1.committed various and significant violations of international law,
2.had failed to comply with the obligations to which it had agreed following the Gulf War and
3.further had ignored resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

The Act declared that it was the Policy of the United States to support "regime change." The Act was passed 360-38 in the U.S. House of Representatives[4] and by unanimous consent in the Senate.[5] US President Bill Clinton signed the bill into law on October 31, 1998. The law's stated purpose was: "to establish a program to support a transition to democracy in Iraq." Specifically, Congress made findings of past Iraqi military actions in violation of International Law and that Iraq had denied entry of United Nations Special Commission on Iraq (UNSCOM) inspectors into its country to inspect for weapons of mass destruction. Congress found: "It should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove the regime headed by Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq and to promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime." On December 16, 1998, President Bill Clinton mandated Operation Desert Fox, a major four-day bombing campaign on Iraqi targets.

President Clinton stated in February 1998:

Iraq admitted, among other things, an offensive biological warfare capability, notably, 5,000 gallons of botulinum, which causes botulism; 2,000 gallons of anthrax; 25 biological-filled Scud warheads; and 157 aerial bombs. And I might say UNSCOM inspectors believe that Iraq has actually greatly understated its production....

Over the past few months, as [the weapons inspectors] have come closer and closer to rooting out Iraq's remaining nuclear capacity, Saddam has undertaken yet another gambit to thwart their ambitions by imposing debilitating conditions on the inspectors and declaring key sites which have still not been inspected off limits....

It is obvious that there is an attempt here, based on the whole history of this operation since 1991, to protect whatever remains of his capacity to produce weapons of mass destruction, the missiles to deliver them, and the feed stocks necessary to produce them. The UNSCOM inspectors believe that Iraq still has stockpiles of chemical and biological munitions, a small force of Scud-type missiles, and the capacity to restart quickly its production program and build many, many more weapons....

Now, let's imagine the future. What if he fails to comply and we fail to act, or we take some ambiguous third route, which gives him yet more opportunities to develop this program of weapons of mass destruction and continue to press for the release of the sanctions and continue to ignore the solemn commitments that he made? Well, he will conclude that the international community has lost its will. He will then conclude that he can go right on and do more to rebuild an arsenal of devastating destruction. And some day, some way, I guarantee you he'll use the arsenal....

We are seeing the results of promises made by Obama to withdraw American troops from Iraq and to close Gitmo.

No, we are seeing the results of running into a place where we ( US) had no business going in the first place.

We stepped in shite and we tracked it back to the house is what we've done.

they will always ask us to do their dirty work

they place no value on the lives of women won't even fight to defend their own families

"We were invaded. Please come do something about it" "We have no intention of thanking you when you are done"

They are bad to the bone when they think they have the upper hand and can cover their faces. They run and hide in holes in the ground when they are confronted.

Let 'em fight their own battles.

No what this really is, is what you get when "do-gooders" will not let the armed forces, who wage war do their job. You break an enemy down to ashes! There never should have been one boot on the ground in that miserbal haven of rats and snakes. A couple nukes turning that place into burnt sand was the answer. War is messy and people die but when the enemy is completely subdued or exterminated then problem solved.
I will guarantee you that if they had the fire power and nukes we have we would be ashes.

Agreed. Our own rules of engagement left us horribly vulnerable to Hadji. Kind of like fighting while handcuffed, leg shackled, and blindfolded.

so---from one who actually went---it's kinda like Vietnam, ain't it?

too bad the morons who started this mess dodged the one I'm referring to, n'cest pas?

According to dictator Obama, the world's never been a safer place. Think how much safer it will be after Afghanistan falls. Our children and grandchildren are being set up for a radical form of terrorism that will have such a foothold, they won't be able to contain it. I hope dictator Buckwheat and his minions are proud of their legacy.

Or............Buckwheat DID say he wanted gasoline to be $9-$10 per gallon in the U.S. didn't he?
No problem, just print more money.

And for where Buckwheat's granny said he was born, doesn't look good.

If established governments in Kenya and Nigeria -- with substantial anti-terrorism assistance from the U.S. and other governments -- are unable to stem the AQ tide, is there any reason to believe that the CAR government, which is in reality little more than a name, will be able to effectively counter a Seleka allied with AQ?

this is sorta like dealing with coyotes..

you can go out and kill as many as possible,.. really get the situation under control.. and spend alot of time tracking them down.. rooting them out.. but some other guys comes along and talks all fancy,.. says he can do it alot better,. .. so the folk say let him do it.. and turn their back on all your hard work.,.. sure he might sound real good.. and if they just leave it to the next guy to keep them them down it might work out like he says it will..

but if the next guy is a liberal.. well then you have a problem... sure he might shoot one or two and brag like heck about how he has them on the run.. then while the liberal fellow is posing for a picture with his hand out...
cause hunting coyotes isn't cheap..

well you get the picture....
