The Sask. Hockey Association took away our AA Bantam affiliation last week-the reported reason was that we aren't competitive in the league despite the fact we have one of the highest draft percentages of any where in Canada. The real reason is that teams don't like to travel to such a remote location. Scouts tell me when they call that Meadow Lake boys are good hockey soldiers and can handle the tough road trips when they move on. Here's where the IRONY comes in-the bigger city 100 miles south that got to keep their team next year got their asses handed to them 12-3 by us the same week the ruling came down.
