Heck....I'd like to go to the sale too. LOL Ain't gonna buy anything, (Just sold a few here while back) but it'd be fun meetin ya and watchin the sale.

Texas will never be the same if you two get together    :P

I don't see the urge to buy up all these established rancher's.Just because they are successful does'nt mean you will be.To the common rancher these corporate ranches are not a very reliable source for commercial seedstock. In my idea's Rich people have status cattle and a big feed bill.Poor people have cattle that actually make money in a real world situation.Afew week's back you were talking about how your cow's handle the heat with a fan and mister's  The only fan our cows see is the wind and the mist is welcome with the rain it bring's.

I get the Angus journal and 90% of those so called ranch's are nothing but rich people playing.cow's that bring $50,000 or more get real, you by mine for $50,000 and I'll by your's for $50,000 and we can all sit around and brag.

I've thought Ankony was a joke after one of it's first so called (Dispersal's)

I see BOHI is dispersing now must have got over Playing (COWBOY)

I prefer to buy seedstock from the same guy who makes the hay and calves the cow's not the guy with an open checkbook.

Full page Color Adds in the Angus Journal Don't make you a cowman and buying someone else's life's work does'nt make you one either.

kinda like Thelma and Louise part deux

I gotta agree with Denny. I was told a story about a rich fella at a Hereford sale. he was talking and bidding, and pretty soon they yelled SOLD. $25,000. the guy looks at his friend and says $25, thousand???? I thought it was 25 hundred.....then he just shrugged his shoulders and said oh well, I hope he will breed cows.

that really turned me away from buy cattle at a neighbors place because they used each other to "bounce the price" for each other.

but, at least Kola ain't selling evverything off and loading the places with Buffalo!

To each his own I suppose.

Well.....at least someone bought it that's gonna continue with cattle, and not a subdivision.
That's the way I look at it. And who knows. Maybe that person's life work was his passion, and he didn't have kids to pass it down to, OR...maybe he did have kids and they had no interest, and was ready to retire. Ya never know unless your involved in the transaction.
Just because one company or individual is more successful at something, and can buy out a big operation, to me it's the same as Joe Blow that has a small operation that's successful and his neighbor sells out and he buys the land and runs his own cattle on it.
