Will you spread some grass seed where the cows are have created a high impact area. I look at high impact areas as an opportunity to indroduce new grass to a pasture. I have 3 areas that I will broadcast seed on as soon as the snow melts. The cows look good.

Those "dry condition" grass seeds that they have engineered just don't work here. Without irrigation only native's will grow.

I thought that some interprising individual would have native rangeland grass seed available for arid climates. Thank you for the reply. I am trying to increase my knowledge on how things are done in other regions that are not as blessed with mositure as mine. :D

I've found that areas that have high impact from cows feeding on a piece of ground come back good ,even in dry land conditions.Just have to move frequently,to a different feed spot.

How much native grass seed is in the soil waiting for the right conditions? It would be interesting to see what that area looks like come june. Question for those in more arid regions "Does the native grass realy take off where you have fed imnported feed?"

We are in a drouth in our area and have been for almost 15 years. We get some moisture but not enough. I'm told that 60 years ago the grass was sturip high in this area...That would be nice to see again.
