I've been fortunate enough to coach some pretty good hockey players over the years but I saw a goal tonight that blew me away. We had a power play our winger playing down low made a cross ice pass to the defence then drove the net. Our defenceman hammered a slapshot behind the winger and the winger reached behind his back and tipped the puckout of mid air into the top corner. This was about a 90 mph slapshot. Talk about hand/eye coordination. Were unbeaten in three now so got things back on track.

I'll tell you when you stop for coffee lol. Two kids I used to coach are ripping up AA midget -Jordan Iron and Brandon Herrod-their success is no way my fault both kids had it from prenovice and just built on their talent.

Had a weird play on Sunday-we had a delayed penalty called on us-the other team had the puck cycled low and went to feed their point man-he missed it and it went the length of the ice and scored. Unfortunately our referee screwed up and blew it down-he apologized to me after-THANKS ALOT lol. Had a reminder of why Canadaian hockey players win-they had a huge Dman ran one of our guys and charliehorsed him bad-had to prop him up to get him off the ice. He went to the room and iced it till period was over but was hurting bad. I told him to undress but he wanted to stay in the game. He said 'I can't skate but I'll fight somebody if you want' I told him the only guy you can go with is 14 the guy who ran you. I was kidding him but we got changing on the fly and darned if he didn't sneak out there and get on the ice at the same time. Sure enough they had a pretty good tilt-he won't get cheapshotted by that guy again I'm sure. I watched the Russians play tonight-what a dirty bunch of turtling=hit from behind pussywillows-I'm glad that Canadian boy let the air out of one at the end of the game.
