Jigs won't like this

But espn991.com says the best place for an away game fan is in Lincoln, NE. The article was written by a Canes fan. 8)

Sounds like the Canes fan must not have been greeted by your drunken fans at the Lincoln Indian Center at 10th and Military Rd before the game.

See the linked story in the Lincoln Journal Star......"Party organizer 'ashamed' of rioting fans; Indian Center planning changes for future tailgates". http://journalstar.com/news/local/party-organizer-ashamed-of-rioting-fans-indian-center-planning-changes/article_b4dcbedd-e0f2-5111-8b2f-bfd19a64de0b.html

Lots of Red and "Blackshirt' fans in cuffs.

I must confess that I've never heard of the "Indian Center", and I know where 10th street is, but "Military Road" is a new one on me. My best guess is it's northwest of the Stadium someplace.
Sounds like too much time from daylight to game time, plenty of alcohol, and an opponent with some bad blood/history doesn't make for a good combination. Miami fans weren't targeted, according to the article, the drunken mob imagined the bus was full of Miami fans. Awful tame compared to what used to happen to Nebraska fans in Boulder or Manhattan.

With 91,000+ at the game and who knows how many others out wandering around, 13 arrests sounds pretty minor. Back in the day, we'd have probably twice that many arrests at our college rodeo dances. I have occasional flashbacks yet of "maneuvers" that happened at the NBC Bank building and at the old, old Cornhusker Hotel.

most fights in Manhattan began with a husker fans spouting off that "once every thirty years you a-holes get a win and you think you own the world"..... then it was a week or two before he could move his jaw enough to speak....

It's amazing that Mildcat fans actually understand spoken English, rather than the grunts and noises that usually suffice for the language of a totally inbred society.

Seems as though this is the consensus of the Auburn fans that went to the game in Manhattan:
Just wanted to say that the K State fans were the most polite fans that I have met on a away game. Never had any belligerent fans. Were welcomed to town on numerous occasions. Restaurant and bar staff seemed to go out of their way to leave a favorable impression. We tailgated with friends, but were invited to other tailgates. Several KSU fans wanted to talk about the SEC and how cool it must be to play in big games every week. After the game we were congratulated on a hard fought game. One of the best away game trips I have been on. The Manhattan Police Department even tweeted Thursday night that they had stayed busy but had not had one incident of KSU and AU fans fighting. Glad I made the trip.

I was at the game, great atmosphere. The visitors section was full of AU fans. All nice folks - didn't see any hotheads or idiots there. Also have to give credit to the AU bench.....players also displayed great sportsmanship, no hotdogs or showboats on the field. AU is welcome back in Manhattan anytime. Saw lots of Cat fans congratulating AU fans after the game.

Ya just gotta know how to deal with cat fans, and they're a fun bunch to be around. Some get carried away. Husker fans really are polite and civilized. Hate to say it but if I supported another school, I'd like the trip into Lawrence because of the w we were going to leave with.

If you head to Lawrence, be sure to bring 25,000 of your closest friends. Lots of tickets will be available. KU's stadium has been approx 1/2 full, and the fans that do show up - 1/2 of those leave at the half. Hawks got the Longhorns at home tomorrow. I don't think TX can automatically dial this one in. If Charlie Strong doesn't kick the rest of the starters off, what few are left - if they allow KU to hang around the first half - could get interesting.

The other interesting game is Baylor at IA State. The Clones are always tough at home, and they will typically beat someone at home they shouldn't. They got screwed out of the TX win at home last year. They took OK State out of the national champ pic a few year back. Baylor also cannot dial this one in.

You hit people for speaking the truth?

Even the Canadians agree! Nice article in the Winnipeg Sun stating that "For sporting bliss, there is no place like Nebraska". Good coverage of the Miami game.

The Husker's done went international, Jiggsy. Put that in your MildCat pipe and smoke it!

husker fans are known world wide...they are often used in examples of poor sports, bus flipping, and pompous windbag demonstrations...
