JOBS AVAILABE IN ALB.

Help Support Ranchers.net:

Elwapo, these Mex Mennonites don't ride either. One is the mechanic, several are maintenance, and none of them work directly with the animals. The bosses think it's a pretty good idea bringing them up but there are disadvantages, such as not working Sunday, not reading English, some of them not speaking it very well either.

:shock: :shock: For the price of a 3 bedroom house in the Edmonton area on a 100ft lot you could also buy that house in Manitoba :shock: :shock: with a 1000 acres of grazing land included and then you could spend you day CHECKING YOUR OWN CATTLE :wink:

That begs the question;

Can you make the payments easier with a job in Edmonton, or the cows in manitoba?

There's lots that are cashing out their highpriced real estate in Alta. and moving east.........some just to the cities and towns but lots of ag land is moving too. It's a lot easier to make a living when you can start with equity in your new outfit!!

We're looking for year round part or full time help on a 250 cow pb herd outfit in saskatchewan. We can't pay what the oil companies are but there are advantages to working at one location and decent hours.

Yep MLA........east but not to the point of going "down east" into your country. We've had a few Ontario folk move this way also so that'd be a go west move..........! :p :p :p :lol: :lol: :lol:

I do believe western Sask is the next promise land. Land prices are still reasonable and there is more and more oil and gas exploration every quarter. The political climate has been the only hindrance in the past because we know the oil and gas does not stop at the border. You can still buy ranches in the south west Sask for $3000 per cow, across the border in south eastern Alberta you will pay $6000 to $10000 per cow for similar country.

I have to admit it's getting pretty tough to make money on cows ( in any province) but most of that big Oil money is going to over inflated land and housing that will crash or should I say adjust in time. Most of the guys around here who have worked out in the oil patch say you have to fly in for 2 weeks and get the hell out if you want to keep some of the money. Not the best way to raise a family and keep a wife :roll: Maybe making payments on cows in Manitoba is easier :lol: :lol:
