You ladies can talk about good Impressive horses all you want, but I can assure you if its a decent horse, it's a cropout.

They certainly aren't all bad...and the worst ones were pretty close
up to Impressive. Most of the horses these days Impressive
is quite aways back. And I do know some GOOD horses with Impressive
bloodlines.

I was like you BAR BAR 2, at one point and painted them all with
a broad brush, but believe me, there darn sure are some good ones
out there. In fact, we know a trainer that really likes Impressive
bred horses. He said he has heard all the horror stories, but he has
yet to find one that wasn't good. FWIW...

With a Hancock, a man knows to always be on his guard because given half a chance he might try to kill ya. But you're expecting it. My experience with Impressives is like women. Everything may be goin' great and then all of a sudden the damn thing acts like it has snakes comin' out of its head. What's that old sayin'? Oh yeah. "I'd rather have a sister in a cathouse, than to show up on an Impressive".

H they've been provokin me all day. I tried to bow out gracefully, but NOOOOoooooooo. They wouldn't let me. Honestly though, I would have figured you for an ally. The next time I head that way I'll bring you a good one outta some buckin stock. They would work great in your country.

I notice none of the rest are comin' to my rescue here. That's ok. Living with the Hostile Native has made me tough. Its ok y'all, I'm fine. I got this. :D

I thought you were digging a good deep hole all by your self.

I have the same impression of Impressive bred horses as you do. :?

Thanks for the input there BMR. #*@;@#* !!! I'm like the little frog that fell into the cream pail. If I keep kickin long enough, I'll eventually make butter and be able to hop out.

I like the Peppy San/Baldy Barnes/Freckles Playboy horses we have had and raised over the years.
As I get older and busier I admit to having become partial to Arctic Cat breeding. :D

Talk about goin' to hell in a handbasket. This thread went from bad to worse. Next thing ya know, someone's gonna say they use the pickup horn and a sack of feed. I'm gonna ask my mother to remember yall at her prayer meeting.

with those Impressive bred horses, it seems you either love them or hate them..never heard of anything in between. i headed and picked-up on an Impressive when i was in college. he was a good one, but i haven't seen or heard of another one since.

They all go back to something if you dig deep enough Katrina. Your efforts at justification are commendable, but keep in mind that the AQHA wasn't started till the 40's. I know a guy here who had to put down an impressive horse. Well, he has a band of sheep too and thought he could kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. He took the horse out to the pasture that he was having coyote troubles and put it down. He was planning on shootin the coyotes at night when they came in to feed on the carcass. The kicker was, apparently they don't even like Impressive bred horses. They never even touched it.
