Johnny is a good player,I can not argue that, HOWEVER, he had one signifigant win, and built his stats while up 30 points on a bunch of cupcakes...


do I think Klein should have won, hell yes, does that make me a homer, hell yes. but it is very hard to say that ESPN had thier pick of who they wanted to win it, and ran a propaganda machine like no other to get thier man the votes... just like Teo, if he was not at Notre Lame, he would not have been on the ballot....

ESPN needs to have a lot of thier infuence taken away, they are way to powerful, and controll way too much....they are killing college football as we know it.


what I want to see is OU dismantle aTm in the bowl game, just pulverize them. then in post game interview, Big Game Bob, needs to say " wow this is who they game the Heisman too??? Klien is ten times the QB as this kid" then I will be happy!

prolly just sour grapes on my part, but I don't care. I feel like a good kid got robbed in the voting, and a pompous ash took home the trophy.

I think the way it works now is each team in the conference splits equally all bowl revenues after the allotted expenses are paid to the team playing in the bowl.

In other words, KSU will get the same amount as everyone else of every bowl game, even the Texas Bowl game.

The more Conference teams in a bowl, the more money each Conference team gets.
 
no, Mike, you are wrong...Texas get 99% of all money in the Big 12, and that is just how it is....


see, NU could never beat Texas, so they dream up this idea that Texas got more money, and split for the Big 10...only to be more irrelevant than ever in the new conference...once Ohio State gets off the naughty list, NU will have ZERO chances at a Rose Bowl birth....

I may have sour grapes over Klien being hosed out of an award, but I am so happy to not have the self proclaimed greatest fans in the big 12, that I can live with it.... even after they are gone, you still see huskers popping off about the Big 12, so we know that they are so pissed the Big 12 did not fold after they left.... they are the most gracious people, if you ask them, but I know them far too well, to fall for that bullshit....
 
Since no other conference wanted K-State, I'm glad you are happy and pleased with all the behind closed door, smoke filled room, behind the scenes politics (that favors Texas) that is the Big 12.

Something must be right...when the Big 10 added Maryland and Rutgers, I'm pretty sure that I read or heard that the Big 10 conference is the richest conference in the country. Even if Nebraska would become irrelevant in the Big 10, we know we'll always get a fair shake and a fair check....that is seldom the case in Dallass.

Actually jigs had you watched the games Johnny would have had much better stats had he played the entire game every game. Several games he played ONE series in the 2nd half.

As for the cupcakes, seems KSU had a few on their schedule as well. Baylor and UT have two of the worst ranked defenses in Div. 1 football not to mention others.

You lost jigs.......actually you didn't even finish "runner-up"....barely got 3rd.

Johnny won 5 zones in the country out of 6....even won the zone Kansas State is in and only missed Manti's zone by 3 votes. I'd think that's pretty darn convincing. Now will loosing to OU tarnish the award?? Not one bit, no more than losing to Baylor took the glimmer off a fine QB like Klein. Everybody loses at some time. Some of us more than others.

if Klien was QB for OU, I think he wins the trophy..... the "name recognition" and the good ole boys club has a lot of pull.....

If Kansas State would have not been irrelevant for the last century Klein probably would have had a chance! So its your own damn fault, you said it yourself, "name recognition", maybe if Kansas State makes a "name" for themselves they will have something.

P.S.
Making a "name" is going to take more than one good season, maybe 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 national championships would do the trick.

a better feeling, being a team on the rise, trying to build that name recognition, then to be a washed up has been like NU, jumping conferences cause they are irrelevant and can not win any more...

NU to ACC ?? next power move for the Big Pink?
 
A "washed up has been that cannot win anymore" with over 300 consecutive sellouts (record) over 300 Academic All-Americans (record) 5 National Championships, numerous Heisman Trophy winners, and more money in the budget than K State will ever have.

Want some cheese with that whine? Always a bridesmaid but never a bride. That's the K State way.

last few years KSU had a recruiting class average in the lower 90's or upper 80's.... and look what we have done... Texas has a near top ten every year, and look at their results..... I put my trust in Snyder.
