Real nice bull, nortexsook!

I give two thumbs up for using horned Hereford bulls!

I've only had one calf so far that has had horns using a horned Hereford on black cows. ...and by the looks of them, I'd say they were going to be scur looking things more so than horns.

I have always been told purebred angus are homozygous polled, so any cross with a purebred angus should be polled. Some of resulting calves will carry the horned gene(heterozygous polled). Today with our knowledge of DNA there are always mutations going on and always have been. I really doubt the angus breed wants another genetic defect that causes calves to be horned.

Nortexsook, your bull is an awesome specimen for the Hereford breed. I have looked him up on AHA numerous times and the blood runs true.

I prefer to use hereford bulls on the black cows, instead of the other way.Simply because it seems to take a lot more of the disposition problems out of the angus.
