Here's the closest pic I could get of the badger before rigor mortis set in-he was digging up a bad piece of dirt for him anyway.

Well I can say with a fair degree of certainty he won't be getting any older-they were both big old males-talk about stink almost as bad as a timber wolf but not quite.

So they stink do they???? So that means you won't put a little red and white stripped sweater on him like the valentine badger mascot???   :D

I couldn't resist that one NR..........

well for a small fee I could lol. Maybe he can put that pic on photoshop and get rid of the .22 shell. That big closeup was a funny deal Ty was sneaking over the dugout bank and him and the badger met on top. Here's an idea I'll freeze him and hope he gets to Nebraska before he gets too high.

Do you know has anybody ever had a tame badger-I've seen just about everything made a pet up here from moose to timber wolves but never a badger. They are sure cute when they are little an old female used to raise a batch in one of our pastures every summer.

Tame a badger? Man those critters are full of so much piss and vinegar that they make Timber Wolves seem down right friendly... I suppose it is possible, as you say, people have made pets of stranger things but I would bet it would be a challenge on one of them...

Kind of a cute bugger actually..Kind of reminds me of a very strange looking dog... Very strange.

I think they are protected here in Illinois now but I could be wrong.. I know River Otters and Bobcats are...I am not even sure we have any Badger anymore.. a few weasel now and again but nothing that big and goofy looking.

I think they are born MEAN. I trapped a mother one time and lost the set pin on my trap. Reached down the hole to find it heard growling and knashing of teeth. Wasn't long in pulling hand out of hole. Went home made a new pin and trapped 4 little ones out . In the ground we have around here the holes stay forever or get bigger. They never fill in on their own.

I stand corrected... Apparently not only are they in Illinois but they have expaneded there once reduce range back to normal and we have legal trapping of them... I have been wrong before... Have a hunch I will again.
