Pelini recognized the game was over and was letting the second and third stingers in the game. Clearly, he had shifted priorities from stopping Snyder to conceeding and allowing younger players some fun. What torked him off was that Snyder knew the game was over as well, could see that NU was substituting, but kept his starters in. It was bush league and Pelini was just calling a spade a spade. Snyder had an inferiority complex from NU eating his lunch so many times.
Snyder may have left in the starters, but we RAN THE BALL. old Callahan was still playing a verticle game taking long shots at the endzone when the game was out of hand.

and even good old Dr. Tom has brought the starters back in to add a few scores when KSU brought the score with in the point spread...... not sure which years, but I could get the info for you.

Jigs, you're taking a page out of the Democrat's book, you're justifying your a-hole by the actions of another a-hole instead of admitting your guy was an a-hole. Callahan was an a-hole to do what he did, now it's your turn.....

I know two stories - both verified by the opposing teams coaching staffs - that Tom sent over notes to the other team at half time saying all of our runs would be between the tackles. Your point spread theory is laughable.

I will do some digging, and get back with you. a long time Cat fan told me of this and I believe him.
KSU did not run up the score the year you a-hole called my hero an a-hole
I will do more digging. but I have the PROOF to show we did not run up the score. it was just the beginning of the end for NU and the crybaby fans did not like it that the perennial doormat kicked thier asses.

Jigs, Jigs, Jigs, when the game is decided, your opponent is putting in the scrubs and you still have your starters in the game and scoring on those scrubs, you're running up the score - doesn't matter if you're a Jr. High coach, or 'ol Alum-ash Snyder.

Getting you to admit the obvious is like getting a Democrat to admit Bill was horney.

I'd bet my life that Osborne didn't make a single adjustment for a spread. The man hates gambling, especially on sports. Your long-time cat fan buddy is full of crap.

those rose colored glasses of yours are doing you an injustice.

KSU beat NU by 34 that year and the AVERAGE NU spread over KSU was 39. some of those were 56 - 3 !!

now who ran up the score?? that is why anyone who blows out Nubbrasee is doing a good deed!

Just because you kick the snot out of somebody doesn't mean you ran up the score. Sometimes, you're just that much better. When Oz was coaching, K St. should of been playing Nebraska-Omaha. Arizona St.'s coach accused Tom of running up the score once, and we only scored twice in the whole second half - the last was a pass from our third string QB to a 4th string receiver!

Snyder ran up the score, Jigs. Fess up. The man was a decent coach, he wasn't Osborne.

Snyder ran up the score, Jigs.

BS. The losing team has the option of stopping them from scoring.

Or are we talking Pee Wee and Termite football here?

That's one thing I have against Tubberville, he will never let Auburn score any "Style" points.

When the game has been clearly decided and you pull your starters and put in the 2nd and 3rd team, you're focus has changed from stopping the other team to letting the young kids have some fun and get some experience. When the other coach sees this, but yet keeps his starters in and scores, he's running up the score, no doubt about it. That is the very definition of running up the score. It's pure bush league - as a matter of fact, I think those were Pelini's words.

Not only is is bush, it's flipping stupid. After 3 minutes short of a full game, your starters got the reps they needed and now you're just risking injury. You're also missing an opportunity to develop depth and reward some guys who don't see the field much but still put in the practice hours. If I was the AD and one of my coaches pulled that crap, he had better have a good reason.
