What a coincidence, isn't 47 seconds about the time frame of the average offensive drive of K. St., from the snap on first down until the punt on fourth?

At least they know when it's time to punt and when it's time to fake it.

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his sweatshirt.
Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, "What
setting do I use on the washing machine?"

"It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your shirt?"

He yelled back, " Nebraska "

And they say blondes are dumb...

the big race track in Nebraskee is Aksarben, which is Nebraska spelled backwards.

I saw an on street interview of several people asking how it got the name. the answers were great!
the Aksarben family owns it

it was named after an indian tribe

Mr Aksarben was an early businessman in Omaha.

really was an enlightening piece. I learned a lot about Nebraska History!

they did that interview during the state fair a few years ago... channel 11 I think.

of course, I should not throw stones. the Arkansas river is the only one I know of that changes names as it crosses the border. in Wichita it is pronounced R- Kansas, Wichita is nothing more than a mirror image of Omaha in my opinion. a dreadful place that if blown off the map would not bother me one bit.

Hey Jigs! You getting cranked up?

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State athletics department received word Wednesday that the Wildcats' 2007 season opener at Auburn on Saturday, Sept. 1, has been selected to air in primetime on ESPN and will kick off at 6:45 p.m. (CDT)/7:45 p.m. (EDT).

The game will mark Kansas State's first appearance on the network since Sept. 10, 2005, when the Wildcats defeated Marshall, 21-19, on ESPN2. K-State's last game to be broadcast by ESPN was the Wildcats' 2003 season-opening 42-28 victory over California in the BCA Classic at Arrowhead Stadium on August 23, 2003.

Overall, K-State has won three in a row when playing on the ESPN family of networks, including a 34-27 victory over Arizona State in the 2002 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.

Kansas State's game at Auburn will mark the first time the Wildcats have opened a season with a true road game since K-State made its 2001 debut with a 10-6 victory at Southern California.

The Wildcats and Tigers have squared off twice previously, the last time coming during the 1979 season, when Kansas State dropped a 26-16 decision at Auburn in the season opener for both teams.

Here's another to get you primed:

yes, I am eagerly awaiting the season! although, I must admit, I am more interested in the Pike Valley Panthers Jr. High than KSU this year. my oldest boy will don the pads begin wreaking havoc on unsuspecting opponents

looks like the old combine will be shutting down early once a week!

Mike, I hope you have a great season, after losing your home opener!

Hummmmmm............. Now who should I root for in this game??? War Eagles Or Wild Cats?????? : :???:

Do I hold a grudge and root for the Cats?
Or do I help kick the cats into a deeper hole with their prima dona quarterback???

I'm going to have to think about this one.......
Jigs, I say we road-trip to Auburn and show em what midwestern rednecks are all about!!!

Tickets ain't easy to get anymore. I gave up my season tickets 2 years ago, but still have connections. But with it being on ESPN, there might be a few to be had.

I will guarantee you the best BBQ and adult beverages anywhere too!

How redneck should we be??
We have a 1984 Elderado class A motorhome??? Throw in the pink flamingos and we are as red necked as can be........ :D :D :D :D :D

There was a time 30 years ago when I'd of drove across the country to watch a goat roping or chicken butchering if that line was added to the invite......

You can come too, OT!

Looks like OT needs to swing by and pick me up, we to to Katrina's and get in her camper and head down to Jig's. We pick up Jigs and get him drunk and dye him red when he passes out on the way to Mike's. We get to Mikes, eat, drink and be merry, catch the ball game and then set fire to his barn. Sounds like a party to me.
