Kansas State vs Auburn

Looks like OT needs to swing by and pick me up, we to to Katrina's and get in her camper and head down to Jig's. We pick up Jigs and get him drunk and dye him red when he passes out on the way to Mike's. We get to Mikes, eat, drink and be merry, catch the ball game and then set fire to his barn. Sounds like a party to me.

Now that does remind me of 30 some years ago...Don't think the body/liver could make it past the first day anymore....

We've been known to have a "Barn Burner" in Auburn:

The Night the Barn Burned (1996) Wikipedia
LSU defeated Auburn 19-15 in 1996 while the old Auburn Sports Arena, affectionately called "the Barn", burned to the ground across the street from Jordan-Hare Stadium during the football game. After scoring a touchdown, Auburn trailed 17-15 and attempted the two-point conversion. LSU intercepted the pass and returned it for a 19-15 win. The fire began when a tailgater placed a barbecue grill too close to the building. Scenes of the fire were captured by ESPN during the national broadcast as flames were seen as high as the Jordan-Hare west upper-deck. The game was never delayed, and the Auburn public address announcer continually advised fans not to worry: "the stadium [was] not on fire; the flames [were] outside the stadium."

Hubby says he should be free if we're not chopping silage...... Where the hell is auburn??? :P

From you? South until you smell it, then East until you step in it. Ooops, that's the directions to Manhattan, KS. I'll get my atlas....

Don't believe a THING Jigs says, especially when it comes to football.

I figgered out that Jiggsy lived about a hour from me, and I am fairly familiar with his area. Well, we traded PM's about this, and he let slip that he was born in the town where I live. That's all well and good, but Jiggsy is a born HUSKER! Yup, born in Nebraska!

The ONLY reason I can figger as to why he is a Mildcat fan is they must dropped him on his head after leaving the hospital.

Sorry, Jigs, but I couldn't help myself. Better a K State fan than a Notre Dame fan anyday!

I can agree with you on the Notre Lame thing, but come on! better DEAD than Husker RED !!!

Cats win in Lincoln this year!! mark it down!

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Josh Freeman came back for Kansas State's preseason drills feeling fairly good about his summer workout program. He'd put on weight and gotten stronger.

Then the sophomore quarterback took his conditioning test — and flunked. On Saturday, he failed it again.

After two days of practice, Freeman and five other returning players were still waiting to take the field.

"I came in weighing quite a bit more than I usually weigh," Freeman said during the team's annual media day. "That's no excuse. I felt like I was in good shape.

"But obviously, the time parameters Coach gave me, I wasn't able to step up and do it."

The 6-foot-6 Freeman, who threw for a freshman-record 1,780 yards and six touchdowns as the first freshman to start for Kansas State since 1976, hit a high of 265 pounds during the summer. On Saturday, he said he was within his target range of 245 to 250 pounds.

Now, all that remains is to complete the conditioning test: 300-yard shuttles in 50-yard intervals.

Coach Ron Prince, whose first team went 7-6 and lost 37-10 to Rutgers in the Texas Bowl, is watching.

"I'm not happy about Josh not passing the test," he said. "Obviously, we've had plenty of time to train. He's very close on it, but it's one of those things where it's a performance business, and we all understand that."

Freeman's roommate, junior center Jordan Bedore, was among the others still trying to pass the test.

The list also included junior defensive lineman Vlad Faustin, junior quarterback Caleb Smith and two other offensive linemen, sophomore Brock Unruh and junior Brad Rooker. Another sophomore offensive lineman, Derek Meyer, passed his test on Saturday after failing Friday.
