I have a Kawasaki, thinking about trading it for a Kubota, anyone here have the Kubota ?
Is it a good machine ?
good luck

Haymaker, a fella I work with down in Snyder TX has 2 of them Kubotas. His wife took his away and wouldnt return it! So he got another but the new one has a dump box, she traded  . They sure like them. And in TX the top speed is below 25 mph so he said it does not require licensing. Good luck to you.

Being Kubota I'm sue they're good but I've had a Mule now for about 6 years with zero problems and would not hesitate to buy another one. Wonder how the prices compare since Kubota tractors are typically pretty expensive.

,I am in the market for a new "UTV" was completely happy with my Kawasaki Mule for 5 years,it never missed a beat, never failed to start, no mechanical problems nothing......................then a couple days ago I managed to back over a old tire rim I had in a trap,I use them to feed mineral blocks instead of throwin them out on the ground I put them in an old tire rim works well for me,that is till I backed over one with my Mule, high centered it and broke the belt housing,I dont guess I ever realized the belt housing is fibre glass or some sort of plastic/polymer ? without a skid plate.
That part is only $66 dollars but believe its time for the Mule to go,thinking about the Kubota ????????????????
good luck

Ive got a neighbor with the diesel Kubota...he likes the fact you can get it with AC, but if you have any mud at all I would stay away from the Kubota...they are real heavy, and get stuck quick even in 4wd.

I've got a JD diesel gator - its good, but the older ones do not have enclosed belt housings, and when its wet the belt slips. Its my only real complaint about it. That and its a bit too slow...supposedly the new 2011 gator has a sealed drive belt and a 35mph top limit.

The gas ones on all of them are much faster, but having gas around is just a pain in the rear...I would never get anything but a diesel.

We have a Kawi Mule "Trans", the 6 seater. It's OK, but is hard starting, lots of times when we come to a stop it stalls. Have had it in to the dealer and they don't have any answers and can't seem to get it to idle any better. It's great for running around choring though.

My complaints - other than the sputtering idle and stalling - is no power steering. I've gotten my hands/wrists wrenched a few times when the wheels spin hard unexpectedly.

The good news - Kawasaki came out with a new Mule this year that has power steering, faster top speed and you can get the "Trans" in a diesel. Makes me want to trade up.

I like the Kubota as a work horse also, but it's not real quick for cutting off ornery cows - like the Mule - and as others said, it's a heavy pig. My overall pick would be the Polaris Ranger, the new Mule, or if I won the Lotto - the Bobcat Toolcat that has the loader on the front.

I sure like Polaris Rangers. They ride smoother, go faster, and carry more weight than other brands of UTVs. Besides, they are a product of the USA.

I will hafta check the Rangers out.never knew they were made here.
good luck

yeah,I checked weights ,looks like the Kubota is about 300 pounds heavier than my Mule, and probably cost about $1000 more.
good luck

I just thought of a new possibility for that Unimog that sold so cheap . . .3-way dump bed and all . . .

I was impressed by whitewings, but it aint practcal for what I do,need something small, countrys too rough and too many trees/hills and creeks.
good luck

I had a Bobcat 2200 diesel, I wouldn't have one again if it was given to me. They have a Kubota engine in them. I 300 hrs I replaced one clutch pack, both door jams, and was continually stuck in the damn thing. I would check out a HONDA Big Red. You can not beat the reliability of a HONDA.

We have been looking at Japanese mini trucks. Just waiting for the right one at the right price. They are road legal, do 65mph, AC, heat, cab, can use quad tires, and can come with a dump box. They run between $4000 - $9000 depending on options and condition.

The Hondas are rougher riding than a Polaris, and their load capacity is only 500 pounds instead of 1000 pounds for the Polaris Ranger.

A neighbor has one of these, and I never see them use it. We use our Polaris Rangers every day. Lots of days I put 50 miles on mine. For one thing, the steering wheel is on the "wrong" side of the Japenese trucks, which would make them awkward as the dickens.
