Little H headed back to school last week. She's growin' up pretty fast. Way too fast for her Dad! Can you guys and gals remember standing on the steps while your Mom took your picture? :D

My wife and I took another trip on the mountain Saturday night to look at bucks. Didn't find any bruisers but the view was nice. Looking north from the top of the sheeprock mountains toward our little town.

Looking west at the black peak in the head of sheeprock canyon. Keep your eyes on the saddle right in the middle.....

There he goes! Just a two foot four point with a little extra point on his left side. He needs two more years and he'll be a nice buck.

We've got a big fire burning in southern Utah and the smoke is coming a couple hundred miles up our way. Makes a pretty sunset though.

The deer were scarce and the air was smokey but I was with my sweetheart at one of my favorite spots as the sunset! SWEET! :D

Hiking back to the 4 wheeler in the dark was fun. The "dock" plants have all dried up and sound like corn flakes under your boots! We just walked along in the half moon when we heard something tromping down the ridge through the rice crispys! It was a skunk! At 9000 feet  Guess he was out for a walk too! He looked us over and kept going down the ridge! Last thing i saw was his tail in the flash! Don't worry, we smell just peachy!

I took this picture half an hour ago. The big fire in California and some Utah fires have the west filled with smoke. Hope BBR and Jeff and the rest of you Californians are far away from the flames. If the sun being blood red is one of the signs of the end, I gotta go repent! :D

We had the a cloudy sunset. Looking your direction today. It was pretty smokey. Being 80 miles north of Reno NV, I am actually west of Los Angeles. The wind was pretty stiff from the south west all afternoon.
Our country is tender dry down low. Luckilly no real fires around here.

We are getting smoke haze from Gcreek's area. :?

Thanks BMR, I was worried my eye surgery wasn't as wonderful as I thought !!

I've been following those fires on the news - can't imagine what it would be like to live in any of those areas. A good rain without the lightening is sorely needed.

Leanin H - I don't know all the hunters on this site but I do know my hubby and NR would likely appreciate your special spots :)

I think rural kids take 'going to school' a lot easier than their folks

Those are some awsome shots!! What's the Photo Contest category this week? Those kids do grow up way too fast.

OUr lil school has the old school bell out front. Took both the kids pictures standin by it on their first day of kindergarten. I realllllly tried to get Lil Lilly to let me go with her, on her first day of college and take her picture somewhere on campus.....but she said no. LOL

Great bunch of pics H. Didn't know you could go fishin' in the dark on the desert. :P

We do have four major fires still burning in the Chilcotin, none close to us but some folks have been evacuated. Pretty smoky for drying hay.

And yes, we changed our NH parts supplier/dealer today. I would think that 7 days is a little long to wait for a rebuild kit for a slip-clutch in our 1411 and we have been waiting 8 days for a new PTO shaft on the 1431.
Supplier 2 had them both in stock.

Learn somethin' new every day, eh Gcreek!!
