Greg and I have been doing a bit of renovating in our Living room, greg went to take the book divider out thats been there since gregs parents built the house in '63. When carrying it out a auction sale flyer fell out. Its dated January 31 1966. The heading is North Dakota Hereford Association 4th Annual Selected 4U Sale.
65 Bulls sell,35 Females Sell.Sale starts 12 noon at Schnells Dickinsons Auction Market,Dickinson,North Dakota.

Featuring the following bloodlines....then a LONG list of Bloodlines.

Consigners....then another LONG list of consigners.Auctioneer...Bob Schnell

I'd post the page but I think it will be too small to read. Anyone wants to see if they know anyone whos name is on it,I could look for them same as the bloodlines. Greg thinks his dad bought a couple females and maybe a bull or two from this sale.

My dad, who is 85 years old, started selling Hereford bulls when he was in high school. He has every bull sale catalog from every bull sale he has been to all of his life, and that is a bunch of them. It is interesting to look at those old catalogs.

Dad held a Hereford bull sale at his ranch from 1973-1984. He called it the "Country Music Bull Sale" and there was always a local dance band that performed for a couple hours during dinner, before the sale started. Local merchants, tractor dealers, implement dealers, and artists were invited to display their wares. Usually an average of about 300 people attended these events. Speaking of Bob Schnell, he was the auctioneer at all of these sales.

Thats interesting Soapweed,I love looking through stuff like those Sale bills action, notices etc. I also love the "old" hereford pics, boy has that breed evolved, they were so short and stocky.
