Last team to own the SEC

If Nebraska went back to its roots, would it be unable to bring in talent to compete with Michigan and Ohio State in the Big Ten? Right now, the Huskers are struggling to find a new recruiting base to replace what they had in the Big XII, namely Texas and Kansas. Those struggles can lead to two divergent conclusions.

One would be that a program that is already having recruiting issues does not need to make matters worse by implementing an offense that recruits could see as a relic. The second would be that if Nebraska is already going to be operating at a talent deficit compared to the Buckeyes and Wolverines, then the Huskers need to pull a page from their old playbook (quite literally in a certain respect) and employ a system that makes up for the program's deficiency of blue-chip recruits.

just a mid pack team in the 4th best conference in the nation....Nebraska is the Ole Miss of the Big Ten..... a team they prop up as a good solid team, then let the conference big boys piss pound them back to the mid pack status.....



huskers got tired of not being treated like the king they felt they were, took off for the big ten, searching for that pot of gold, and all they found was that they are in the same situation, just different teams....

There goes that old green eyed monster again, possessing poor Jiggsy. I think Big Red's fortunes will take a turn for the better once Martinez is gone. He is not the leader he should be, and his ego writes checks his talent can't cash.

Uhhhh, Sandy? It's more like a hundred years. Although Jigs is a Husker by birth, his hatred of the Huskers is reminiscent of how AQ hates America.

Sandy, you & I should go to a MildCat home game sometime & hang up a banner that says "Radical Muslims for Kansas State!". That ought to make poor Jiggsy vapor lock! Hehehehe.
 
the huskers have to dwell on history, because they have no future.... as a Wildcat, I look at our history with the idea that it was a dark place and we are headed to better places in the future...huskers look at the past, and brag, and try to remind everyone that they were once a team to be praised, because now a days, people look at big red and laugh....

I have to agree with Jigs on this one, even though I was born and raised in Nebraska. It sure looks to me like all the Huskers are doing is trying to relive their world, when Dr. Tom was here. I have never liked Bo. He doesn't represent Nebraska in way shape or form.
TO be honest, I think they ought to do away with all forms of organized sports!!

That include shooting sports? That's organized.

I had a couple of roommates on the UNL Rifle team back in the day.
 
I still say ALL organized sports, and again I know it won't happen.

Its a lot more fun to just challenge your buddy.

Brings in too much money to most universities and actually funds a lot of "non" athletic scholarships.

BTW, the SEC just won the NCAA Track and Field Championships too :wink:
 
It is kinda fun to get you guys worked up. I DO think there is too much emphasis put on sports, but there sure are some of them I do enjoy watching. :wink:
