Last week was absolutely beautiful! Sunny and 40's during the day, 10 - 20's at night. Snow was slowly going off. Now this week it's not freezing at night and rain off and on. The snow is quickly going off, water everywhere. Took some pictures while it was sunny.

A possible heifer bull to be. He's out of one of our 246M sons, his mother is a 8020 daughter, her MGS is 767G.

They are looking great. Hope the rain doesn't get them down. :-)

I had three calves with real short tails last year. I blamed the coyotes. :???:

We had one last year (Bob) that know coyotes got. He just has a stub. I saw this one right after she was born, the end is haired over.

Soap...I have to prove I'm not totally predjudiced

Cattle look great. Thanks for keeping us enthused just before calving season. What direction are the mountains?

Looking first rate Nicky. We have a cow that has chewed the end off of all three of her calves. Not sure why she insists on this habit.

Beats the cow I had which insisted on chewing the umbilical cord till' the guts spilled out... she's no longer living here

Great pictures Nicky! Your calves look fantastic, and are really starting to take off. Still too early here to see if the calves out of the two new bulls are going to grow out. I'm paranoid switching genetics, but hopeful this will work.

Enjoy the sun and warmer temps. It's been nice here as well, and is supposed to be good into early March. Doesn't get much better than that! :D

I really like the first bull calf, too. He looks like a keeper! What are you going to do with Bobbi Sue? Retain her and make her a cow? Up here, if we sold her, they'd just look at that little stub of a tail and assumed it was frozen off and dock the bejesus out of the price for her. Doesn't matter if she was born that way.

Looking good Nicky your cows look very similar to Fraser's you gotta love those 8020's-it seems I raised a budding Hereford breeder Ty is dealing on a good set of Hereford cows-wants some good solid cows to use Lad on. I'm sure calves run with their tails up as a defence against predators-yotes do get the odd tip on us too. I just about got that music CD you sent me weorn out by the way lol.

Good for Ty. :-)
Guess his loan came thru. :-)

Must be good CD,what kind of music.

They all look good Nicky. The calf you have your eye on as a possible heifer bull is one handsome fellow. Hope the 6050 heifer calf turns out to be just like 6050's dam for you someday. :D

Pretty adorable babies Nicky...everything looks happy at your place, and with views like you have who wouldn't? Of course I'm partial to the "cute" calf pictures...thanks

Thanks everyone!

Good for Ty, how many is he leasing? Glad you like the CD, wish I could find more, guess I'll have to break down and call him.

Blkbuckaroo, its a fairly local guy that sings his own cowboy songs.

Shelly, yeah, we'll keep her. They dock you big time here too. We'll eat "Bob" this year for the same reason.
