I don't go back to work until Friday night so the spring cleanup has been going full force out here. It was 64F here today and I almost melted! While I was busy following orders from Mrs. H on what needed cleaning and what need to head for the landfill I noticed a calf was out and hanging around the stackyard munching hay. Ya'll know how calves can climb through a manger! I just let them and it acts like a hay creep feeder. Well #1 is quite a character. Here's where I found him and had to take some pictures! :D

YES I'm laying on the hay! What you gonna do about it!

If my Mom was around she'd of cornered that face and kissed it! I've seen her bail off her horse to Kiss baby fawns! Wonder why she has no problem kissing baby animals but never did even act like she liked ME? :???: I gotta go call my shrink!

I still see you even though you tried sneaking up behind the big stack.

Finally tired of me taking his picture he called for reinforcements! Two bull calves hanging out at the salad bar! :D

But his buddy soon decided mom and the milk dispensor was in the corral and abandoned #1 who showed his disappoinment by enjoying the sunshine!

And taking a midmorning siesta! :D

I cleaned and stacked and threw stuff away all morning while #1 just napped. Finally about 11 he went looking for mom and a milk mustache! Spring feels good when your a black calf laying around all day. How would it be?

Very cute. Do you have one of those mini skidsteers to handle those mini bales? :???:

As a matter of fact I have a very handy implement for handling small bales. It was made 41 (almost 42) years ago by my parents and is called ME! It breaks down a lot and smells bad when it runs but it is so cheap it works for free most of the time!

That No. 1 calf is very attractive and also very photogenic!

Watch stacking and loading those bales by hand. Mr. FH handled
them for years, and now his back is worn out. The specialist he
went to for his first back operation told him, "those idiot cubes have
made me more money than anything else."

Of course, if he had a baler that would make a 90 lb. bale,
he made them 120 lbs. He would have been much better
off if he had been content with 75 lb. bales. Gosh, I remember when
I used to be out there helping him load them on the hay trailer to feed
the cows...and I loved it...oh, those were the days!

I can't see the pictures either. It has been this way for about a week. Before they came up great. I view them at work, which has a huge pipe connected to the world, so it isn't a speed issue. Must be some setting or browser issue since some can and some can't.

Dang those are some cute pictures!!! When I go out to the pasture to check cows I could just watch for hours if I had time watching those youngsters kicking and running around....I just love it and it makes me SMILE!!!
