Does anyone make thier own tack or build saddles, I am just learning how to do some leatherwork. I am going to build myself a wade style saddle soon.

Well, Jinglebob is gone. If Rawhider is still here, he does amazing rawhide braiding, and makes bits and spurs. Jersey Lilly made a saddle.

greg,{my hubby}made a couple saddles and is making one for our grandson this winter. The one is an old tree he really liked, tore all the old leather off and redid it.Theres an old guy in Stettler,at the end of main street, hes really good at helping a person with any info. on doing a saddle.

There are some very talented saddle makers around Alberta to learn from. Gerry Murphy in Elnora is very good. He is experienced with the Wade tree. Also, Lori Gordon in Big Valley would be a lot of help.

speaking of Jinglebob has anyone checked out their site lately?
I wanted to but do not know nmae of it.

cowboysandbuckaroos.aceboard.com

haven't been there in awhile...can't look too far in unless you SIGN IN!!! They want all their visitors known!!!

I think old Jinglebob probably could have sold more saddles-- and probably even horses (to people that can/will pay for them anyway  ) than he ever could or will with old Buckaroo Bobs website.....

This is the first time I tried to check out their website...you can't look around at all unless you register :???: Don't think I'll bother.

YUP being on that website feels like being in prison....they have to know exactly your whereabouts. Jeez, you can actually stalk somebody on that website!!!!

It really is too bad Jinglebob decided to throw in with the wrong bunch!

Hi,
I just joined today and saw your post. I'm a custom leatherworker specializing in tack, chaps, and working cowboy gear. I'm still learning saddle repair and am saving up for saddle school soon. Let me know if I can answer any tack or gear questions for ya!

Welcome aboard. Now you have to post some pics of your work for our critical eyes.

Warning altho we can recognize great work we can't always afford it. :(

Well Jinglebob didn't really get lost, he is just lurking in the shadows. He makes first class cowboy stuff. He has a website somewhere, I bet he may pop out of the SD sunshine and let it be known, I hope so. If I was going to have another saddle made, I would at least give him a hollar, oh, and I dont even personally know him so I am not on the payroll per se haha.
