Lets see where this Good Sunday Mornin' goes.....

Shortgrass, it sounds like you just had a smidgen of writer's block today is all. But you are still ready, willing, and able to bring us the Sunday message in spite of that. Quite unlike Jonah was.

Last night at church the OT reading was from Jonah 3:1-5,10. This passage doesn't include the great lengths that Jonah went to in an attempt to avoid God's command to go preach at Nineveh. Or his sulking and griping to God in Chap 4 afterward.

God wants Jonah to go to Nineveh. So what does Jonah do but get himself on a boat headed to Tarshish instead. You know the rest of the story. God sends a storm that threatens the ship until the crew finally throws Jonah overboard. The big fish comes along and swallows Jonah. Jonah spends 3 days in the belly of the fish until he has a change of heart and the fish peuks him up on shore.

Now Jonah is finally ready to do the job God had lined up for him to do in the first place. But what a rigamarole to get there. Do some of us act like Jonah at times? I pray we are never so ornery and obstinate that God has to put us in the belly of a big fish before we see the big picture!

Jigs, I sympathize on the propane deal. I ran out once early one Sunday morning when it was -20. I hated to call the guy but I did about 5:30 AM. He wasn't planning to go out that day but went out and plugged his truck in. I had heat back on by 9. That is great service!!!

I think God wants us to learn " to love our neighbor". As I look around the world I'd say God is pretty disappointed if not totally pi .. ed off.

house is almost toasty again...

blessing in disguise I guess. all 6 of us spent the bulk of the day in the office where we had the oil heater humming away....it was ok, but I never would have made it in a pioneers one room house! just not used to being so "tight"

It may feel like we are waiting at times, but is not our tested patience that gives us peace in our journey...When the end seems impossible and your faith is being question. It is then a message is sent to you,a reason to hold on,as simple as a smile or a word from another....The meaningful gifts from god take longer to unwrap, they can be big or small..They come wraped in worry and fear but also in love and hope....If you feel it in your heart, the gift is in you,God will tell you when its your turn to start unwrapping it.There may be other gifts to those around you that must be unwrapped first. So when its your time to open your gift, the path has been cleared and your patience will then see its reward......Enjoy the ride...

stress?? you want to talk about stress??

someone forgot to order propane.... 55in the house this morning, except the office where i plugged in a small radiant oil heater....all 6 of us enjoying a cozy 20 x15 room...... no deliveries till Monday, so I am going to pull the tank from the grain bin and hook it up to the house.....

but I think the family is coming around to the idea of a wood burner!

CAREFUL JIGS!!!!! I don't want to question your knowledge or ability with propane, but if your grain bin tank is set up for liquid draw and your house burner is vapor draw, you will end up blowing the house sky high.

Thankyou to all who participated in todays thoughts. It was an attempt at a discussion as opposed to just my rambling. I was pleased at all the participation. Well have yourselves a good Sunday evenin' and a great rest of the week too. There were lots of hits and replies on this post, but, my question is did any of you get something worthwhile from it?

Shortgrass, as I have stated before I am not much of a church-goer but I always get something worthwhile from your posts.
Now give that pretty wife of your's a big hug and have a good week yourself. :D
