Those are some monster fish Mrs. Greg. Never tried them before.

There are a few people on this site I would have been worried about opening this thread up after seeing your title, but I wasn't concerned a bit about you.

   remind me not to go in the mississippi id get eatin by one of them monsters!

I could think of a number of other reasons not to swim in the River, being eaten by a big cat would rank far on the list... Now if their are any Alligator Gars in the water, I am not going anywhere near the place... Yikes... Those things have freaked me out since I read abou them back in second grade..

I just don't see the need to get anywhere near a creature like this.... We have their smaler cousins in the canals around here and they are a real PITA.. Going to have to take my bow down there and spear a couple or 10 next time I take the daughter fishing...

I hear one time that someone had reported that a person had fell over the hoover dam and never floated to the top so they sent divers in after the body , well the divers were down there for about 10 minnutes and the came to the top litteraly screaming to get the up on the boats , when asked why the were in such a hurry they said there was catfish in there big enough to swallow a man whole , and thats probly were the body was at , in on of them catfish . They couldnt make the divers go back in there and never recoverd the body .

Years ago when I was little ,my Dad and a friend of his started a rescue dive team here. I remember him telling me of catfish in these TVA lakes around here that were big as a man.

This was before a lot of the safety guard rails were installed around here and cars would wreck and go off into the lakes and they'd have go in and try to retrieve the bodies. There was no 9-1-1 back then. I remember him saying that they's just about have to beat the catfish off the people in the car.

I never ate catfish again after those stories!!!
