Little H ties the knot

Help Support Ranchers.net:

Good deal H.
Are they moving to Idaho?
No. She has a job as an extension agent here in Juab county south east of us an hour. So they will live in her apartment and keep going to school. Then will spend a year in Logan Utah finishing their degrees at Utah State University. But I bet they may end up in Idaho later.

@leanin' H If you ever sink your teeth into some properly raised and processed goat meat, you will rue the day you passed up the start of a rewarding and profitable ranch endeavor with no investment. :ROFLMAO:

I'm a rancher. I will need you to define the words you used. What the heck is profitable??????? Investment??????

Not having goats is rewarding enough

At the reception, before she made me dance with her, I got to read her a poem I wrote to her and her new husband. Thought I'd share with y'all since ya weren't there in person.

Hitched

When a dad has a daughter, it's a wonderful thing,
Cause little girls do stuff, that just makes your heart sing.

Ribbons and curls, under a cowboy hat.
Giggling and laughing as she packs around her old cat.

It's getting my hair done, by a six year old beautician,
Or sitting on a shore line, just her and I, fishin.

Picking out lambs and going to the show,
Ridin horses together, as it's starting to snow.

Watching her gain confidence on a basketball court.
Seeing the top hand that she is, when our cattle, we sort.

I saw her win some belt buckles, in a showmanship ring.
Shoot her first buck, and about a million other things.

I've seen her from the moment, she took her first breath.
And there were one or two times, I could a choked her to death.

I sure beamed with pride, the day she got her degree,
And I've often wondered, how this girl, could of ever came from me?

I watched her teach, and love and truly care.
As she mentored 4H kids, and her gifts, she did share.

So much like her momma, and grandmothers, it's true.
This young woman is a cowgirl, and the years have just flew,

She's no longer a little girl, now a beautiful lady.
Who started dating a roper, and about drove me crazy.

Til I got to know Hyrum and the man that he is.
Now a part of our family, like soda pop and fizz.

These two kids, were just made for each other.
We are gaining a son and Dalton's gaining a brother.

And I stand here tonight, with tears in my eyes,
It's so hard to believe, and it's still a surprise.

Somehow she's grown up, and now she's got married,
And I've got a lifetime of memories, that will always be carried,

Close to my soul, and deep in my heart, as I stand here before you two, and get to watch, as you start,

On your path as a couple, as husband and wife.
Work hard on your marriage, and although there will be some strife,

Always look at each other, like you are looking tonight.
With a love like you two have, your future looks bright.

I'm just an old cowboy, but here's some advice.
Never stop dating, and do your best to be nice.

Don't hold onto grudges, and be quick to forgive,
Take joy in the little things, and make damn sure you live,

Each day for each other, and end each day with a prayer.
With God in your marriage, He'll sure watch and take care.

I will stop with my preaching, and I will wind up this rhyme,
But Hyrum, Hailey is like her momma Angie, so I'll just say this one time.

When you and Hailey, maybe, don't always agree,
Here is the secret, that has worked well for
Me.

Just like a bronc ride, you gotta know when to spur.
But if one of you is wrong, well, it's damn sure not her!

I wish you both all the best, and Hailey, I'm glad I'm your dad,
Cause raising a daughter, is the most fun I've had!

Awesome, but there were some tears at that reading!
Ya know there weren't??? I had a tough day Thursday getting everything ready. I went up to check my cows and about had a come apart. But i woke up Friday and I felt a overwhelming strength. It stayed with me all weekend. I am fairly confident it was a 6'4" cowboy with huge hands who provided that strength. I truly feel we gained a son Friday. He treats her like a queen and they are best friends. He is what I prayed she would find in her mate. Or maybe I am finally toughening up? 😂😂😂(I don't even believe that)

Some of y'all are aware that my only daughter is getting married tomorrow. It's plumb crazy to think she is old enough to be doing that. But she found herself a fine young man and we think the world of him and his family. I'll start this thread and add pictures to it as we go along. It's a bittersweet moment for sure. Still awful raw from losing my Dad. And excited for Hailey as she starts a new chapter in her life. Life is a wild ride. Appreciate y'all maybe thinking of Mrs H and I tomorrow. She won't let me get tore up drunk so maybe a prayer or six would be awesome. I reckon this is why we raise our kids- to see them hopefully turn into good people and make good choices. I'm more than blessed in that department for sure. The maternal side of my kids pedigree is definitely due most of the credit. My plan is to dig a spur as deep as I can get a hold. Pull my hat down and holler "Outside". Or I may just pass out and lay there a while. 😂😂
Either way, I'll keep y'all posted. Sooner or later
Wow, that is an eye opener! How long has it been since I posted on here. Congratulations to all involved. Sorry about your dad.

That line, "But if one of you is wrong, well, it's damn sure not her!". Is she somehow related to my youngest?
