Loader Tractor?

I bleed green and think John Deere is the only way to go. My cousin has both a 6420 and 6430 with loaders. If you can swing it, get the IVT. Tractor acts just like a pick-up with a automatic transmission. Really a great way to go. In the long haul is it hard to wrong buying a green tractor. I have a an old 4030 with a 265 loader that needs an engine rebuilding. Even though that tractor is 35 plus years old. It is still a joy to operate. Just the way a John Deere is designed
 
You might consider a New Holland Bi-directional tractor. I don't own one but I've often thought that these machines would be great at many different jobs. I put up the 4x4x8 bales so I have a 544C John Deere Industrial Loader for stacking & loading the bales 2 at a time. The best thing about it over a regular ag tractor with loader is the articulation of the machine. It gives you unmatched manuverability. The bidirectional is also articulated & with the hydrostatic transmission, I would think it would be a great loader tractor. They have 105 PTO horsepower, so that would be close to your HP range.

We have looked a Bi-Directional but the cost is what keeps use from getting one. Before we got our swather we had thought about getting one to swath with and then have a loader. The only problem with a Bi-directional for use is when we need the swather we would need the loader. We sell a lot of hay and it just didn't seem like a good fit for us. We also bleed green that's the only color of tractors that we have. Just looked at some of those newer New Holland and Case tractors and kind of liked them, but we also looked at those JD and to me I think its a no brainer to go with a JD. I don't really like the idea of buying something without looking at it and also getting in the cab and driving it. Now probably alot of people have bought tractors over seas, but it scares me to pay $30-40 thousand on something that the only time you looked at it was online. Buts thats just me.
 
We have two New Holland MFWD tractors, one is a TS 135A, the other a TS 125A, both with loaders. They make great haying and feeding tractors. A couple things we like about them are the sunroof for doing loader work up high, and the engine power management. When running the PTO, the tractor "feels" how much power the PTO needs and will boost up to 20 hp. So actually the TS 135 runs at 115 hp but can boost up to 135 hp. The TS 125 runs at 105 hp without a load. That helps on fuel.
New Holland switched their numbering system, I think they are the T6000 series now. As far as price, a JD tractor of similar size was $15K-$20K more. Not a hard decision for us.
 
Didn't have time to read through all the posts but we have had a 6200L loader and it was great- traded it at 7500hrs with no real problems other than a tie rod busted one time and right at the end it had a leaky water pump. now have a 6120L and it is pretty much the same machine. My uncle has a 7410 which is probably more what you are looking for. That has over 3500 hrs on it already with no problems. You really can't go wrong with a John Deere :D We just got a new 7730 for tillage and row crop work. I wouldn't recommend one that big for loader work tho. Unless you have the whole field to turn around in :roll:
