PS----don't let the "ribbing" get to you.....lots of different opinions here on ranchers....noone means ya harm!!! If you look back on the past postings, you will find that many here also do not care for the term "cowboy" :wink: :wink: Just laugh and remember that we generally are "one big happy family" with the ever present siblings that bicker and fight and go telling mommy!! :wink: :D :D Don't let it scare you off, though....just hang in there and feel free to share your opinions.
 
i did go ahead and change my name but i understood that it was "ribbing" no harm done i can dish some back when the time comes lol...by the way the search is going good....just prayin that someone will hire me on and give me a chance to prove myself thanks for the help

I give a kid sage advice to get a job, no insult or denigration. Fact is, I've rodeoed plenty myself, oh , and even noted this fact.

Most people have to get all liquored up to be as obnoxious as a Texun.
 
Ranch hand, keep a positive outlook and you'll be fine. If you can convey what you just wrote "I just want a chance to try," it will go along way.

HAHA...if the "Texun" remark was intended to offend me you failed miserably!!

Truth is, I have met a lot of obnoxious Texans since I've been down here myself. Some of them can be so arogant :wink: But usually they are arogant about how wonderful there state is and how every other state is totally uncomparable to theirs. No sense in fighting with them cause you'll just get pissed off worse. And be glad they like it here....they can stay here....best if they do. But me on the other hand....I will be fleeing Texas eventually and not spending the rest of my life here....despite what you may want me to do Brad..haha. shirt I might even move to nebraska and be your neighbor!!! :lol: :lol: But if you live in Kansas I sure as hell won't move there.....you can keep that state :wink: (had to throw that in)

Hey, Ladies and Gentlemen! Let's give RanchHand128 the benefit of the doubt - if there is a doubt! He has indicated to me that he is thinking as an Adult and as I would expect a responsible employee to think and act. He has followed your suggestions and changed his 'name', kept his cool under rather trying criticisms, and obviously is seeking help - which is more than I can say about ANY employee who cannot understand that he is expected to be on the JOB (Hello :o - do you realize that the rest of us have been working for four or five hours already this morning - Hello??) when the DAY begins. Some members of the "NOW" generation are a bunch of spoiled brats - RanchHand128 does not seem to me to be of that ilk. Sombody take a chance with him - you may be surprised what he can do for you!@! :shock: :D

Truth is, everywhere I've been has some great country - even Missouri. I wonder when its going to dawn on those Texans, it ain't a 20 year drought, its a desert. Seriously, when Texas gets the rain its extremely good cattle country.

whoa there texas boy.....don't go running Kansas into the ground....we do have the worlds largest ball of twine !
 
oh ok....what i seen of Kansas I wasn't to impressed, but I'm more into rangeland instead of farming. And I like hills. But basically the only part of Kansas i have been through is Highway 83 which i drive to go home and that is the worst stretch of my drive......straight, flat, and nothing but trucks hauling something. I usually try to hit it at night so I don't have to see the country side. haha. Of course where I am at here in Texas isn't much better.....in the middle of a desert, but atleast its cattle country.

And Kansas has Miss Kitty....don't forget Miss Kitty, and Festus, and Doc, and of course the guy who seems to always be in the right place at the right time, Marshal Dillan.

Does Dodge city have a big deal about that there? I always wanted to go and see.....I figured they would have Miss Kitty's saloon there somewhere...haha.
 
wow didnt think this topic would stir up some contraversy, i dont really have anything against Texas or Kansas or anywhere for that matter...why cant we all just get along?? haha
