Looking for DNA Samples on Bulls

I have been on a bit of an adventure the last little while sourcing DNA samples on influential bulls for a big research project in Canada. It has been real fun, as a lot of the bulls that have made the breed are held in old tanks and I have had great opportunity to visit a lot of breeders that I may not have talked to otherwise. We are still trying to find some bulls on our high priority list for sequencing (looking at every piece of DNA along every chromosome). There are quite a few neat objectives, but that would be a post and then some. I have the list of "still searching" bulls below. If anyone knows where some of these might be, feel free to PM me. I am trying to get them found by mid-May. Bull name and Breed are below. The list is an interesting read if nothing else. :D

i'd have a little different project in mind for a few on your list. i bolded a few i'd be interested in acquiring semen on, especially 35A. In RSL's words "If anyone knows where some of these might be, feel free to PM me."

Check with Dr Jerry Taylor at the University of Missouri for bulls on your list. He has acquired a number of dna samples on a bulls. The two research groups might be able to share information and DNA.

You might want to check with Brian Weaver at advantage catlle site for help with your desired list of bulls. He has an online listing of sellers wishing to sell semen or acquire semen.

We are working with Jerry Taylor, largely to avoid duplication. We have trimmed bulls out of our list that he has already done and vice versa. Have sourced some from Advantage, but haven't looked since I got some of these new lists. I will take a look there. Thanks.

Check with Brian about posting your wish list on the message board. Some of the posters may have a straw they are willing to donate to the cause.
