I´ve used Gary Bell down towards Milton. Really pleased with his work though he can be costly. Of course, for something you´re going to look at for the rest of your life, you might as well get it done right.
Congrats again on the hunt.
We´ve actually got some whitetails down here and my guys are reporting seeing more and more of them. There´s lots of poaching down here....they kill anything and everything, including spotted fawns so you can imagine how tough it is for the deer to establish good populations. And all the "hunts" take place at night.
I´m going to talk to my neighbor whose ranch is about the same size as mine and encourage him to help me manage for better deer pops.......no killing does or fawns, planting some of the edges in beans etc. Both of us have plenty of water.
Mr. Gary does all my ducks. he does great work. Yeah if yall can get the management down on those deer you may have a herd to actually hunt and kill some nice deer.
The world only gets smaller, doesn´t it.
As for the deer, as best as I can tell, they´re about the size of our marsh deer back in Louisiana though I have seen some decent looking antlers hanging in a garage or two. Of course, I´ve seen Hill Country deer that would score 140. What whitetails need besides a decent diet, is age.
