Buddie just told me that he has a 1 in 6 chance of winning a new tahoe through work.

The bad news is that his triglyceride count is 3980 and his blood sugar was over 500 and his liver enzymes are out of whack. He was bragging about holding the arkansas state record for the triglyceride number. I told him we'd nick name him T-rex or Mr. T. He said just have that put on his headstone. Probably not funny.

Is that in mg/dl? If so, 500 is known as EXTREMELY HIGH!

Get yourself in his WILL, fast!

Well , I'd have this guy stand near a hole fit to bury him in then!!!!

Just in case cause he's prob too big to drag .

You'd have thought his Dr would have put him in the hospital to adjust the blood sugar as that's dangerous.

do you suppose he isn't being honest?
a personal question- is he always running to the bathroom? is he always thirsty? those are good signs or symptoms of diabetes if his sugar is high. Also, sometimes a person gets very irritable or angry.

Also, the height and weight of a person aren't good indicators of a cholesterol/diabetes problem. In fact if a person is losing a lot of sugar in the urine he can have a hard time keeping the weight on. Some normal or skinny people have high cholesterol values.

we admitted a 42 year old "healthy" male (5'11, 200#, athletic) a few weeks ago who came in "not feeling well...sort of stumbly and mumbling words".....his blood sugar was 1100 and he was still breathing without the assistance of a machine!!! Size of the person really does matter and he was admitted "PRONTO" and placed on an insulin drip til we could get him under control...ended up keeping him for almost a week...got him a diabetic education consult and had him meet with our local registered dietitian!!! No family history of diabetes and he had been feeling "poorly" for only about 2 days prior to his coming to our ER...poor guy honestly thought he was having a stroke!! Your friend REALLY needs to see a diabetic specialist before his kidneys give out and he starts losing his toes as well as his vision!!!
