A few threads back I was yipping about how great the M&W balers are, and I guess I should have kept my yap shut
The very next day, the main chains came off the rear idlers (which were properly adjusted, justa freak accident), snapping teeth off the rear idlers, breaking the main chains and tearing the idler mount to pieces. Big repair, but not expensive (about $1000 I think by the time its all done). The problem is that M&W doesn't keep those parts on hand at all, and have to manufacture them. 6 weeks! Nary a single dealer in North America had the parts to repair.
So while I still believe the balers are good ones, let the buyer beware should they have problems with parts that are M&W only. I decided to go mainstream and bought a NH664 as a primary. I'd planned on waiting a couple more years, but with the cost of custom baling, I'd be looking at over $7000 for my baling this year.
