Macon, what is with the porn sites?

Macon, porn movies are sure not a part of theis ranchers lifestyle. :evil: I refer to the WasteAMinute websites advertised at the bottom of the page. I confess that I a may be speaking out of turn because I have not clicked on them, nor do I intend to. I can and will voice my desire to see them gone! What do others think?
 
I was also surprised to see them there. The stuff you see on prime time TV though is way out of line. It's absolutely no wonder we have the behavior we do in this Country. Is it Sweeden that has the really sexually liberated society ?? I wonder if they have the same amount of violence and rape and unruley behavior we do ??

Shortgrass, I agree with you, even though I use Firefox and never see any ads. But unless things have changed, Macon doesn't choose the advertisers. That stuff is contracted out and he only gets a small percentage of it - sort of a pay-per-click deal.

I discussed it with him at one time about some things that I found offensive. He agreed - just as I'm sure he would agree with you on this issue. But he also impressed upon me the difficulty that he had in getting them removed. Not that it was impossible - just that there were a lot better things he could be doing with his time.

After giving it a lot of thought, I had to agree with him. I don't pay anything for access to this site. Macon provides it free, and the advertising is the only thing he has to help pay the bills. If there's somebody here willing to click on one of those ads - and in the process take money out of that advertiser's pocket and transfer it to Macon's - well...that's really a pretty good deal for all of us, isn't it?

Even though I don't approve of them, when companies like that help pay the bills around here, that allows me to look forward to the better things on Ranchers without it costing me anything. Things that DO meet my approval. Things like Good Sunday Mornin'. :wink:
 
I agree about the ad's in bad taste. My kids always like to see the new pictures ya'll post of cattle and your places. It's a shame you have to be careful where ya click. By voicing our opinion of them maybe the powers that be will be inclined to replace them with something else. :oops:
 
I too wish this particular advertisement would go away. I've noticed that it just keeps bein there...didn't they usta rotate???

I noticed here while back....some add about dog poop or somethin (can't remember exactly what it was).....I kinda laughed and went on about what I was doin on here. Now I don't think that doggy poop add was too terrible. LOL
 
You guys that don't want to see certain ads should try downloading Firefox for your browser. It's a lot better than Explorer for most things, it's got some really great tools and you'll never see another ad if you don't want to. Best of all, it's FREE.

If you're not looking for them....you'll never pay attention to them.

Porn sites? I didn't know we had porn sites. :oops: I need to get out more! :wink: :lol:

I surfed around ranchers a bit and the only ads I saw were on the ranchers home page. I have Bull Session shortcut bookmarked on my favorites so maybe that's why I haven't noticed the ads?
 
...and all I ever see is ads for those compost toilets....which are really expensive! My curiosity got the best of me and I did click. :wink:
 
Hey -- if y'all are gonna click on any ads, don't waste time with the Porn below. Click on OUR Ad, on the side of the page!! (B and B Scales -- we custom build livestock scales.)

And, just for the record, we are fully clothed when we build our scales and we don't have any dirty pictures on our website. Heck, we don't even have any calendar girls on the walls of our shop (our wives wouldn't let us. I'm not gonna lie...) :-)
