Cutting and collecting the twine takes more time than rolling out the bale.

Nice pictures. I like Peach's tagging apron...I use a flexible tackle box with all the compartments taken out.

Still giggling over that mule's forelock  . BTW, that was a great perspective for a photo. Were you warmer today? My thermometer in the sun hit 70 here this afternoon. Of course not many cows calved, too warm for them I guess  .

It was a beautiful day here, but just got up to around fifty. It was a welcome relief though, from the past few days. :-)

And I wonder why our HQ couldn't be just a little ways to the south so we could be calving in sand instead of mud. You don't smile like that when you're in the slop, or bone jarring rough when it's frozen. :yeah:

What is the tool your daughter is holding in her left hand in the picture titled? "Cutting and collecting the twine takes more time than rolling out the bale."
I guess it hase somthing to do with removing hay string but I have never seen one. Please tell me all about it. I might need one.

Here is a picture I posted of this knife a few months ago.

Ahayknifethatmakesthejobeasier.jpg

A hay knife that makes cutting twine easy. The best part is you can do it with your gloves or mittens on. It is manufactured by: The Tucker Corporation, Mooreland, OK 73852. The only improvement I would suggest to them is to paint the handle orange. I have planted a couple, but they never seem to grow. Anymore I try to keep one extra on hand at all times. They are for sale at Lancaster Livestock, Cody, Nebraska, 402-823-4242 at the price of $15.95 each. They are a good investment.

Would that hook work for net wrap as well? We don't use twine in this wet country.....everything is net wrapped. It seems like net wrap will dull a pocket knife in no time. Anybody had experience with this? thanks :)

The church looks like the Cowboy Church we go to. You come as you are. We was penning cattle one day and I was cover with you know what and they just laugh and said we know what you been doing. Our church is and old horse barn.

P.S. The knife look pretty cool. I'm got to make one out of a boot puller. I can't ever keep a knife sharp.
