Here's some pix I snapped this morning, while putting out feed.

"Hey, hey! Get that feed in here fast buddy! We're cold!"

100_0204.jpg

"I don't care how high that drift is, get the feed buckets in here! And hurry up!"

100_0205.jpg

Fence with tire tank waterer. Snow piled pretty high around it.

Here you can see how much moisture we got when it was still "snizzle". (freezing rain and drizzle and sleet) The ice was built up pretty good on this pipe handle of my ice breaking tool.

Feed bunks are a lot closer to the ground today. Only trouble is, the "ground" is kind of tough to plow through!

100_0214.jpg

Spoiled brats, didn't even clean up what I gave them yesterday!

100_0215.jpg

Don't seem to be too hungry. Can you guess which way the breeze is from? :D

100_0216.jpg

"Is this all you got? This is what we had yesterday!"

100_0218.jpg

"If thats all your going to give us, the heck with you! We want fresh green grass. Don't you know it's the first day of spring today?!"

100_0219.jpg

"Well, I guess I'll horn in!" Wonder if this is what Dis looks like? She seems to like to "horn" in.

This is a full sister to my good, young dun horse, that I was riding, on the cover of Cowboy Mag. She had a nice stud colt last year. Don't look like I'll be getting one this year, out of her.

Rocky hill to the North Northeast of my corrals. Don't look like there are as many rocks sticking out today!

"I want to go back to California!"
This is the stud colt we went and got last fall. He thinks spring sucks, in SD!

Hope you enjoyed the tour. It was a littler chilly when I took my gloves off to snap these!

I think you better be happy we took some of your snow with the wind

If it wasn't for the knowledge of how much moisture is in that stuff it could be depressing.....

I got to thinking this morning, how many wish that they could just get the rain to fall in the creeks and watercourses, so as to fill the dams. Well, God just kind of did that for us!

The beauty of it is, some will soak in and some will run water. We get the good of both. I just love spring blizzards. LOL

I am going to have to write a poem about the wind and all the good it does. Oh, wait a minute, I already have! Maybe I'll post it sometime.

Oh and Oldtimer, when it comes to moisture, I'm awful greedy!

Around here, dust lasts lots longer than mud does and ain't near as fun to play in!

So if you've got any extra, send it on down, I'll take it!

When I get enough, I'll share it with the neighbors!

as always, great pix!! Looks dang cold out there, though and those bovine of yours look as confused as the rest of us....."Where's spring??"

Geeeezzzz and I'm sitting here now grumpy cause it's 50 outside and cloudy.

Jinglebob, I love your part of the world in the summer...but about Labor Day...this Southern chick heads home!!!

I'm not sure I could handle your type of winter!!!

Great Job there Jinglebob. Colorful cattle, good looking horses, lots of snow  , . You definately beat us in the snow dept. We might have 4-5 inches, but most of it is in my corral, so it's hard to say really. :!:

Keep uo the picture deal. You are good at it.

JB, Now there ya go using that " S.W.A.G." method of making decisions about me......
:D :D :D :D :D

SWAG?????? :???:

I'm just saying, that from your previous postings, you lean towards the liberal side and that, in my vast experience  liberals don't lke to snuggle!

How many liberals have you tried to snuggle with? :???:

The lesser half came in on Saturday when they were first predicting amounts for this. "at least 6 inches and you know it'll be that heavy, wet stuff since it's a spring snow..." :x

He paused.

"I should hit myself."

Neat pictures Jinglebob,Looked twice didn't see a paint horse, some painted cows...just no paint horse. You really got snow,if you started with none before the storm. Now you should be happy :D

SWAG....Scientific Wild ( rear end) Guess! the censor got me on the " A" word. but you can follow thru!!

I thought you'd get that one!!!!

Now it's NOT a liberal theory mind ya!!! :D :D

Do you have any of those yearling heifers you would part with?

Sell some heifers. With the horns? Sure, for the right amount. Or are thinking about the "Scottie"? I'd even sell some without horns! How a bout a fattened corriente?

We started with nothing but brown with some little bits of old snow on Saturday morning and it started snizzling about then. Turned to snow Sat night. Still was coming down until about an housr or two ago. Winds picked a bit this afternoon. I'd say we've gotten aboput 10 tyo 12 inches, maybe. Might be less. Hard to say with the drifting. Jingles Jr called and he said his boss claims they must have about 6 FEET! Of course, they are calving in it.

Paint horse is up with Jingles Jr. He's learned allll about calving!

Scientific wilddonkey guess, huh. Knew I'd seen that somewhere's before. Must have been in that story I read in the paper, written by a LIBERAL!
