This has been my right hand helper the last two days. My middle one who has just turned 5.

She learnt the hard lesson of ranching this year. After waiting 2 years for for that pink tagged, diamond assesarized, 22Y heifer to finally have a calf, it just had to be one that didn't make it. You should of seen this Dad trying to explain that one. I was scared for nothing, although a little disappointed, she understood and made her Dad feel quite good about the whole situation.

We have fixed a water bowl, tagged some calves, moved some pairs around, checked cows, watched one being born, among other things. It has been a great couple days.

These are the tags her and I worked on last night.

We even had time to rid the country side of a couple of these trouble causers today. My first kills of the year. I can't believe the gophers are out with all the snow we still have.

Be careful, his were done by a five year old. If he had done them himself, they would probably have looked a lot like yours! LOL!

It's funny that you guys comment on the tags. I have been trying to get my wife doing them for a couple years, but she says I am to picky. I finally got her started that night. One of the tags in the picture is hers, but I am not stupid enough yet to say which one. :shock: :???: :wink: :wink:

I'd be more than willing. It could be my new off the farm job. Only problem is I would never have time to farm. I would probably have to do a million of them to make it pay.

I think 73T as well, but I could never write like any of those on paper with a sharp pencil.

The high placement of the ws on the left side could be a clue on the 23Y tag :cowboy: I would bet we could not pick the tag out if it was on a calf!!!

You both make very nice distinct numbers on your tags. Probably neither one of you could ever have been a doctor, because a basic requirement of being a doctor is to write sloppy. :wink:
