Usually go onto fresh green grass around now - rather behind this year, cold, dry and slow. Woke up to -4C this AM with 4 inches snow lying and still snowing. Looks like we are in for more too

Winter storm watch for
Drayton Valley - Devon - Rimbey - Pigeon Lake issued

Up to 20 centimetres of snow are possible Tuesday.

The potential for severe winter weather exists over these regions.
Snow is falling in the Hinton and Edson regions. Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are expected by the end of the day. Snow will continue in the Whitecourt region Tuesday as a weather system begins its track through central Alberta. This system will bring a further 10 to 25 centimetres of snow to Whitecourt and much of west-central Alberta. Snow will taper off Tuesday night.

Temperatures have plummeted below zero throughout northern Alberta and remain below zero this morning. Temperatures are expected to fall below zero again tonight as Alberta remains in a cold Arctic airmass.

It's been snowing and melting for about a day-the cows are still out rooting around in some carry over meadow foxtail-I imagine there were some cows standing at the gate this A'M some places.
