Took the hereford cows over to Thief Valley last sunday. Was supposed to be the coolest day of the week but turned out to be the warmest :???: Took them almost twice as far as normal, took 7 1/2 hours.

The black cows will be going there next weekend. They will go to where the elk picture was taken.

Some spectacular scenery there, Nicky. Your cows look good,
I like your dog. Thanks for sharing!

We knew of some people who ranched by John Day Oregon ( I think
it was John Day) and she said that when she saw the riders on
the ridge above the house coming home, she knew she had 5 hours
to get supper ready.

Those bunchgrass chasers look really good Nicky. Could we trade some hills now for a few swamps come August?

Thanks for taking me along.

Thanks all :)

Jody - what's a dugway? We have minimal BLM and no forest service permit.

Gcreek - you bet we'd trade some hills now for swamps in Aug!!

As you can see the grass is sure not great yet. The annual grasses are heading out at just a couple inches :? Too cool and windy. The bunchgrass is coming on and the wheatgrasses are looking pretty good.

the 3rd to last picture , where someone took a Cat and dug up and cut the road going up the hill. That be a bitch to drive cattle up with out that cut---dugway

Fantastic pics Nicky :D . Your cattle look really good, and I'm jealous of your moisture. I think I recognize the spot where you built the wing to cross, did we ride near there last summer???

Dugway, makes sense, just never heard it called that. Yes, it does make much nicer.

WR, yes we rode by the wing, also everywhere else from the elk picture on :)

I thought so, I also recognized that good red angus bull. The pictures are even better when you've had a chance to see the spot in person :D . Just let me know if you need help this weekend, those Denver to Boise flights are pretty easy :D .
