Even the calves are getting big enough to eat hay.

nice looking calves soap...thats something ive noticed different this year with my calves...they are up and eating hay and cornstalks when i unroll them just like the cows...ive never seen baby calves go after cornstalks like that

great pictures as always Soap, wish we looked like you do, we have snow drifts 5 and 6 ft deep, I had about a hundred head of the neighbors cows in my yard today, as he had them in the wrong place and they all drifted out not sure if he lost any in the river yet or how many under the snow, someone else had yearling drifting down the highway not sure where they came from. Mine stayed put in the shed until I got out to feed them. Should bring on the green grass though

Sure is something this year!

Usually guys are cutting alfalfa within the next two weeks, but it has been too cold to let it grow. Hay prices will get interesting?!?

Nasty little storm yesterday, but is a nice day today and we can't wait for the green grass!!!!

Ice and Green Grass...only in Nebraska..lol ok...South Dakota too! Yesterday was NOT a good day with the snow, and that wind! We lost power for about 7hrs, and so hubby hooked up the generator for awhile, cause it was getting a little chilly in the house...good thing though, I did get alot of paperwork done that I had been putting off...a project that ya can do without electricity!...At least the sun is shining today, and there's a branding at the neighbors this afternoon...life does go on out here in the sandhills...Good pictures Soapweed.
