You got anything special planned for this day ? It's always special around here, these hills around Fredericksburg are full of old veterans, big parade down town etc. they usually fly those old fighter planes low over the parade route, that has brought tears to the eyes of even the crustiest old rancher, there will be lots of people there this year, lots of barbecue pits cooking beef...........good luck
PS I will try and post some pictures.

Hopefully if everything works my family and I will be headed to Cedar Point, KS for a big family get together. The ranch in Kansas has been in the family for 150 years now. The Kansas side of the family is having a big party to celebrate the ocasion.

My brother is getting married this weekend. Should be an awful good time. Wedding in Rapid City, reception in New Underwood. It will be nice to have a fun family get together. We had 3 funerals in less than a month.

We're headed up to Bismarck, ND for a friend's wedding. 640 miles with two kids under 6...
On the bright side, we need to bring a pickup home with us from Pierre, so the ranch is paying our fuel. (Diesel is up to $2.91 here :P )

The wedding (reception!) will be a lot of fun, though. I'm looking forward to going. :)

Wife went to Tuscon to visit her mother who is in a nursing home.

I will participate in a Veteran's parade at the local cemetery.

Our daughter's church group is going to have a camp-out on our place - mostly a father-son thing.

I will be moving hay under the barn. We finshed rolling 36 rolls of 5x5 white clover on 10 acres and it needs to be covered before it rains.

OOPs sorry, I guess I hit the button too many times.

Cedar Point??? that is down in the in-laws area.....mind if (I ask the family name?? I know a few guys from that area. drank a lot of beer over in Cottonwood Falls and Strong City.

The name of the place is the Sauble Ranch. Which is Pat and Mary Sauble and their kids and family. But the way things are looking now my folks are going to go and I am going to have to stay and take care of the water here.

Jinglebob, I'm gonna try to make that Poetry gathering. Bring my book, would ya please?

And what time are you guys going to appear? On stage, I mean AND where is the poetry gathering held?

Thanks!!

Shoot, we're just going for the fun, but will probably be in one of the day sessions and I'll dang sure have a book for you. I might even sign it!

Oh and we'll only be appearing on Saturday and at the bar, late saturday night. Gettin' up Sunday and headin' for home. After breakfgast and the Cowboy Cafe. The shows are at the civic center. It sets next to a long motel. Pretty hard to miss, it's on the southeast side of town, right along the main drag and there ain't a real long main drag in Medora!

Maybe going to the Fish Fry at Church tomorrow night, and hear my dad's group perform........He's big into cowboy poetry, music, everything, so there will be some of that included........

Other than that, we plan to go to the cemetery here, maybe the one where I grew up, and pull weeds, straighten things up, etc.

Think that the guys are going to ride with FIL on Monday, but not sure about that yet.

Ya'll have a great weekend, and if you're on the road, as my Granddad used to say, Watch Out For The Other Drunk!!!!!!

:cboy:

I never plan much for Memorial Day- weather is usually quite unsettled this time of the year around here- and it is again this year...Been getting rain showers off and on for the last couple of days- and today is downright chilly- 55 degrees with 25-30 mph east wind....Much of the state is getting rain or snow- which is supposed to gradually move east and set in here again tonite...Some of the places west of us have received over an inch....

Farmers and ranchers are all walking around town this morning with a smile on their face--Cityfolk are all mumbling and cussing because of their ruined camping plans :?

Probably take in the Memorial Day Veteran services on Monday--seems like it gets less and less that show up every year....
