To all our service members, Past and Present, I tip my hat and offer my upmost respect and thanks! My kids sleep in peace each night because you all keep/kept the wolf from the lambs! May ya'll have God's choicest blessings! And Thanks to all of those HEROs who lost their lives all around the globe!!! I appreciate you all and wanted to say thanks. I hope we all can take a minute to shake hands and say thanks everytime we have the chance!!!

Memorial Day is not Veterans day. The folks memorial day is for are dead. They gave everything they had. And most were young.

Walk around small town cemetarys---esp in Canada. Being U-Jack members, they got in early in both world wars. Another, at least in Montana, are reservations. Big numbers, considering their % of population.

So many deaths, so much needless suffering and loss. To me, any sonofabitch that wants/starts a war should also say "and I'll lead the charge!" and he oughta have a father that had lost a son behind him with a 12 guage, in case he lost his resolve.

Any day is a good day to thank a Veteran and to remember those who gave the ultimate.

I wish the world was so we did not have to have wars, littlejoe.I hate war, but I don't agree that wars were needless.
You and I enjoy our freedom because we did not let other
countries take us over. Sometimes war is more than a choice. My dad served in WWII and he knew why he was a soldier. He never
regretted serving his country. I have cousins who served in Afghanistan more than once. They say they know why they
were there and they went back by their own choosing.
So far we have kept the fighting 'over there'. That could change and probably will, sad to say.
Again, I wish the world could live peaceably. As for the middle east, they have fought each other forever and they have yet to exterminate themselves. I don't know the answer, but we have lost too much ground and too many soldiers the way it is now.
We currently have no leader and no respect from other countries. That is what is sad....to lose what our military has fought and died for. I believe the reason we have a government is to keep us safe. That no longer seems the case. It's about power and money and
corruption. I feel more UNSAFE right now than ever. JMHO.

(I'm sure you know all this anyway. I just felt the need to speak up.)

Let Freedom ring.

For my CIA's and I every day is memorial day, we have our facebook pages where we post the daily rolls of honour, and comment on our close comrades on our unit page. We have a page specifically dedicated to PTSD where we can "meet" and chat as a group who have been there together and so "speak the same language".
We all had better things to do at 18 than be fighting a war due to political expediency, but short of lining all the politicians up and sending them in our place to clean up their mess, we had to defend our families and friends against the communist incursion.
I salute all those young men and women still serving for the protection of the western way of life.
