I am working on the third year of "Good Sunday Mornin", and the Lord has given me a fresh thought for each week. In all that time, I have not repeated the same one. I was searching the archives to see what I had posted for Christmas in previous years, and thought that my Christmas 2006 was worth reposting for Christmas Eve.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is my first repeat:

Christmas, 2006 will be here with a new dawn. May I wish you a Merry Christmas? As my good wife and I talked about what we wanted for Christmas, we came to the conclusion that the thing that mattered most to each of us was to have the family here. Our gift to each other would be to fly the kids in Wisconsin to Colorado for Christmas. Dave, Becky, Brenna, Kyle, and the new one, Luke are with us for Christmas. Thanks hon for the nice gift, and Merry Christmas to you! The whole family gathered at home--what else could be so grand? Now, what do you reckon might the Lord be looking forward to this good Sunday morning and Christmas day? Bet maybe if his children might all gather up and spend a little time with Him would be what would please Him most. Ought not the Patriarch of the clan be given the place of honor? You know He paid the fare for any one of us to come home in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. As your family gathers for the holidays, don't forget to include our Father, the giver of all good and perfect gifts. Perhaps you are alone this Christmas- your true Father would really like to spend Christmas with you. I remember many special times I spent alone with dad; I would chose time with him above anyone else. I truly do wish each of you that I know only thru this website, but have come to care about, a very special Christmas Day. Have yourselves good Sunday morning, a Merry Christmas, and a good rest of the week.

Merry Christmas to you and yours Shortgrass! Your 2006 Christmas message certainly still applies and is timeless as Christmas itself. Your dedication to bring us a weekly message is very much appreciated! Be assured we don't mind rereading from the classic file!

There was almost an hour of Christmas caroling last night before church started. And also many Christmas treats and visiting after!

The thing I came away with is the timeless message from John 1:1-18. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

How great our God is! He sent His only Son to be born among us, live as one of us, die and then rise again that we also might live with Him! I don't have the words to decribe how wonderful this is!

I wish all the folks at ranchers.net a wonderful and blessed Christmas with family and friends! Now I gotta go check my stocking and see if Santa left me a lump of coal or what....

Shortgrass, certainly your message is as appropriate today as it was in 2006 or any other time for that matter. Thank you so much for your weekly inspirations. I'm sure it can feel like a job to you at times but I know all the Ranchers Net friends appreciate and enjoy your mesages.

Thank you.

Thank you, Shortgrass, for that wonderful Christmas message. And thank you also for your weekly gifts to us of the Good Sunday Mornin' devotionals. They are always so inspiring and pertinent to the situations at hand. Merry Christmas to you and Jan, your family, and to everyone else in cyber ranch country. :-)
