Christmas greetings to all who check in here. May the One whose birth we celebrate live in each heart today and always.

God bless each and every one!

1 CORINTHIANS 13 - A CHRISTMAS VERSION

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling
lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I'm just
Another decorator.

If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies,
preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at
mealtime, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another cook.

If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all
that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me
nothing.

If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes,
attend myriad holiday parties and sing in the choir's cantata but do not
focus on Christ, I have missed the point.

Love stops the cooking to hug the child.

Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.

Love is kind, though harried and tired.

Love doesn't envy another's home that has coordinated Christmas china and
table linens.

Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they
are there to be in the way.

Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices
in giving to those who can't.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all
things.

Love never fails. Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf
clubs will rust, but giving the gift of love will endure.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Rancher

Thankyou Rancher for the wonderful reminder. I was feeling a little like the cook today with part of the family here since last night. Time to set the mind to where the heart is, joyful and thanking God for a family.

Thanks, rancher, that was a good one. After reading it to Peach Blossom, she gave me a hug and a kiss and apologized for being a bit grouchy a few minutes ago, when I cluttered the kitchen with today's mail . Thanks again.

Great post, Rancher. Made me take a different look at things today, and I will keep that in my heart always.

Thanks again, and Merry Christmas. :santa:

thanks rancher for reminding us that sometimes we need to step back from the grind and appreciate all the good things we have merry christmas from the madison valley

Rancher, I know I said this before, but your post did wonders for me again today. I wrote in each kid's card that the greatest gift they could receive from us today was the gift of love. It brought a few tears to their eyes. By you sharing that piece, the true Christmas spirit is being passed around to more than you can imagine. I had a great Christmas!

I didn't get to read that until now and I sure liked it.

I like it so much that I am going to copy it and put it in my 2006
Christmas letter...and since I don't usually do a Christmas letter, this will be the whole of it. Just sign it and send it...I think it needs to go around the world.

Thanks for sharing.
