Our newest granddaughter, Rowan Rose, born to the Kosmo Kid and his wonderful bride on August 14, 2014. She weighed
7 lbs. 9 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.

A friend came to rescue me, but we both got stranded under the picnic protecter.

congratulation's my wife's birthday is the same day this year she was in ICU very sick she said it doesn't count since she can't remember. she is finally home after 4 weeks in the hospital she doesn't remember any of it and I will never forget it after 34 years of marriage it was kind of scary. thank the Lord a hernia repair turned into a long ordeal but God watched over us and brought us through

What a beautiful baby. And she is a sweet addition to your 'grand' group! The eldest of our 'first five' grandkids turned 30 last month, and the youngest will be 21 in October, with the two 'late arrivals', sisters ages almost 17 and 10, plus a great grand daughter, age 2, and another expected in a couple of months. All to point out how fast they grow up! Enjoy every minute with them that you can. No intention to brag, but stating a fact, grandparents can be extremely important to those grandkids. I can only try to meet the standards set by my in-laws and parents and my our own grandparents in that aspect of 'grandparenting. We have been blessed to have been on the receiving and as well as have our kids and grandkids. When the generations can live close enough, or have the ability or opportunity to get together often.

Must have been all the excitement of the new baby which caused you, Soapweed, to miss a great description of the pelicans: how about "Pelicans parading proudly" for that first photo of them?
