Meanwhile, the Kosmo Kid is wondering why he suggested I take a picture.  :-)

Hey Soapweed, you'll have to ask your Redneck Son, first picture, if those Buds make him Wiser.

I've got a skull similar to that one hanging on the wall, not as a hood ornament. I've always been curious how the numbers are placed on the horns? Is it done with a hot iron or how? Never seen it done.

Boy have I got a deal for your son. How about a 1974 IH pickup with a new clutch, home made flat bed. Needs some carburetor work.

I will pass on this valuable information to him.

Nice pictures, is the Kosmo Kid out of school for the summer?

Yes, he is. He has been hard at work fixing fence. We are enjoying his company, and he likes the change from school.

I doube if the redneck kid gets too much wiser, but the stuff might temporarily give him that impression.

As to the horn branding, before ear tags were used much, we horn branded all of Dad's registered Hereford cows. The numbers were quite readable for a few years, but the older the cow got, the harder it was to know for sure what the numbers were. We always built a wood fire out of stub fence posts, and the number brands had rather short handles. The system worked fairly well.
